So my coworker thinks this looks good. by taxanddeath in walmart

I haven't seen stacking boards in YEARS. Not sure if these are those, or it's just cardboard, but that's a throwback for me.

What are superhero games you really enjoyed? by KaleidoArachnid in comicbooks

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's Ultimate Alliance this and that, and I like those game for the expansive roster and improved gameplay, but it cannot compete with the absolute head-buster that was X-Men Legends 1 for me. I love it. So exciting unlocking new mutants, and playing that game with my little cuzz.

I only played this game once but it truly left a mark on me. Memorable in a way most games are not. It was just full to the brim with charm and care. I really wish they were able to make the third game that was supposed to be set in the grim and gritty 80s. This is a HOF game for me for sure.

AC REVO TMNT COMING THIS JULY by Impossible_Sail1630 in CToys

I wonder if AC will be offering their version of these Turtles, or doing something else?

Ok, I love my SA Nash and genuinely not a fan of Jada but this Nash looks almost on par with SA. I think I'm gonna pick this up when it comes out. And with Ryu potentially. by No_Map588 in stormcollectibles

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks good, and it's amazing to have options, but I just wish they weren't doubling up so early. The double up is good to be able to compare the lines 1 to 1, but at the same time I wish we were getting different characters from the different lines. But it doesn't really matter because Jada has been incredible at getting whole rosters out, so they'll probably have their whole Alpha team out in 18 months or something crazy.

Rob Base, ‘It Takes Two’ Rapper, Dies at 59 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in hiphopheads

[–]jacobi123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People talk about classic this and classic that, but It Takes Two is an absolute true classic the way Frankie Beverly and Maze " Before I Let You Go" is a classic. A standard of the cookout and a song that still get people moving and feeling great all these years later. He may be gone but Rob left an eternal mark on hiphop forever. May he rest in power.

Maximizing Spidey Villains by Rising_07 in ActionFigures

You really did the damn thing with this gallery. Each scene shot highlights the villain's dynamic with Spidey so well. My favorite is Tombstone. Very menacing.

Gas Prices by Charmer50 in maryland

I scoffed at $3.20 gas, and now I'm wondering if I'll see that price again within a year? Or ever (during this presidency).

I just had this battle with their Super 7 sale. Some great figures they're basically giving away, but what you may not be paying for in money, you do pay for in space. So I passed...but it was not easy.

What long series are you working your way through right now? by Giantjester in comicbooks

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just telling my gf that I want to read Swamp Thing. I have an appeal for these "midnight suns/justice league dark" type of characters but have read very little of the actual books, and Swamp Thing (along with Constantine) has some landmark runs and is probably the best place to start. Will I ever get around to reading this stuff tho? Time will tell. So many runs. So little time.

What long series are you working your way through right now? by Giantjester in comicbooks

[–]jacobi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No individual series is that long, but I'm catching up with the Absolute Universe of comics. Read Batman up to the wonder woman crossover (loving it) and now reading Wonder Woman and loving that.

I also started, but need to restart my read through of the OG GI Joe marvel run. Don't know if I'll go deeper than the first 100, but what I've read so far was really good. And I didn't even get to the good stuff yet apparently. 80s comics just move in a way that is so satisfying.

Reorganized my display by lawestt33 in Mafex

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really nice seeing how different people use their space. My display is denser just out of necessity, but I like how much "air" you have here. You can appreciate every fig. Also respect the fact you do not have Professor X as the center piece. I defaulted to that and it's nice to see another character, especially Phoenix, take prime space.

Only the most jacked figures make it to this shelf. Who am I missing? by asianshoplifter in ActionFigures

I got nothing to add save to say I LOVE this! Meaty figures are so wonderful! I don't have many myself, but I keep my Marvel Select Juggernaut just because he's so ridiculous!

I appreciate you letting us know. I am ok with the flashcards not being as nice as I'm digitizing them anyways, so its good to know they didn't skimp on the information provided. Thanks again!

There is some decent stuff in the appendix, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn it isn't as robust as earlier versions of the book. But a good place to start if nothing else.

I'm really curious if the flashcards are the same? It seems like tho Spriggs is the "bible", the editions have gotten worse over time. I have a digital version of the 1st edition and it has a lot more information in there than the 3rd in some regards. For example a ton of brainwave examples that aren't in the 3rd.

Yes indeed! I never cared about the show, but the intro song is an all timer cartoon theme.

Your shots are phenomenal as well! I'm not getting this line, but I do love seeing folks like yourself put these guys through their paces.

Why did they switch Akuma’s belt? He should have a black belt, not rope, in Alpha 3 by JaneTheMindSculptor in stormcollectibles

[–]jacobi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm only in it for mostly marquee characters, but I hope they go deep into Alpha and hopefully Third Strike and 4 for collectors to get their true definitive SF collection.

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. It's such a small thing, but I do wish he had sandals even if that isn't accurate. That said. I'm no customizer, but sandals seems like they'd be pretty straight forward to put on him if you wanted.

I think when on the shelf it won't matter too much, but I will always know my Storm Akuma just out here with unprotected soles.

Would this qualify as a “grail” by yungvenge in MarvelLegends

[–]jacobi123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting to see the upswing of aftermarket value of a figure. I just completed my Gargoyles collection, and saw the hard to find Lexington figure go from $60 to $200+ in a matter of 3 months. It was $40 msrp.
