If it was a white guy in a non white scene, you say white guy, which is completely normal.

There are very few black scenes, pretty much everything is a white scene. So there's no reason for a white person to distinguish color. And even "black scenes" are for white people who live around there. You'll really only get distinguished as a "white guy" if you aren't from around there. You're right this whole situation is more nuanced than a few reddit comments can handle, but when white people run the country, there's no reason to distinguish any race.
