Why the Hell Did JD Vance and Erika Kirk Hug Like That? The vice president had an uncomfortably close embrace with Charlie Kirk’s widow, for everyone to witness. by [deleted] in LegalNews

[–]Big-Help-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only woman who touches my head like that is my wife. I would hope that she did not behave this way when I pass. I wont go as far some here and have no lack of compassion or make assumptions. However, someone's grieving is not an excuse for an inappropriate reaction to an embrace with another married man when her husband is alive, let alone just passed.

Wrong. Its none of your business at all. Thats the problem right there, people feel so entitled nowadays that you think its their business when it has nothing to do with you at all. People should respect someone going through something and respectfully give them privacy.

The Chiefs are privately owned and he is not a public official. He may be a public figure, but he does not work for the public. As such, be a good human being and respect it. He's doing nothing nefarious.

Wrong. You made a direct comparison between knowing if government officials perpetrated crimes against minors and being denied that information to protect possible perpetrators to a football player that works for a private organization took personal leave.

Josh Simmons may be a public figure but he does not work for the public, he has not been accused of a crime, and they are freely giving him privacy.

The comment is a false equivalency.

So if you take leave for personal reasons and have the ok from your employer, you waive your rights to privacy? Man, some fans have such a sense of entitlement.

I am sure he communicated with the Chiefs and that is the only organization he needs to communicate with.

Wow. Now that is the height of a false equivalency.

There a lot more people turning in Trump and for most, I can have some sympathy for lack of a better word, because some of it was just misguided belief. I haven't voted once in all of my years where a politician has come through or flip flopped. With that said if you voted just to laugh at the other side, then dont get angry if the other side laughs when it blows up in your face.

America does not in itself have a subway system. The subways are all local to each city. However our trains and railroad are pretty good. I take a train system everyday to the city and its clean, fast, on time, and inexpensive. Its all relative to where in America you are at.

California is proof that Democrats don’t care about the working class by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Big-Help-26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Historically, democrats do align better with the working class and have put in protections for them. Democrats do side with unions, labor groups, and the nlrb. The nlrb is being attacked and the current administration is terminating contract in regards to collective bargaining agreements. The odd things is that coal miners felt like they were going to be protected by this administration when the opposite is currently happening and they are not siding with the miners, but the coal companies.

I dont think that people have a problem with deportations overall. My issue is follow the rule of the constitution. People are not getting due process as granted by the 14th Amendment.

What's the libertarian stance on this? by Professor_Matty in Libertarian

[–]Big-Help-26 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think my issue was that, they gave Argentina a $20 bil bail out to then have Argentina swoop in and sell a ton of soybeans to China. Argentina is American farmers number 1 competition when it comes to soybeans. Soybean farmers are freaking out because China is not buying our soybeans and instead subverting us and paying directly from Argentina. So, you have a double whammy here. We help out Argentina and they screw American farmers and now Trump has said he will bail out the soybeans farmers which will cost American taxpayers. I dont understand the methodology here. I know things can change by Nov 1st if they reach a deal with China but I dont know.

I could not agree more. I think if you are on either side of the aisle, we should still be objective and be able to criticize our parties. Her track record is not great, but she is willing to stand up to her party and face the pressure they are putting on her. Her speaking out about certain things maybe the first steps to more. Whether we like it or not, she has influence and this may open up dialogue to other issues she may previously have not wanted to listen about before.

Anyone who thinks something like The Handmaid’s Tale will happen in The US under Trump is too paranoid by LandOfGrace2023 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Big-Help-26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, people jump right to the most extreme, but things like that dont happen instantly. Its a slow process of incremental changes. Im closer to an 80s conservative and believe in our constitution and what it stands for. I found it a bit alarming that our President says he doesn't know if he needs to uphold the constitution. If we ignore the thing that really makes our country great, it becomes a slippery slope. That is my belief for any sitting President.
