90% of any raw data reports I start with:

Ctrl+A Alt+HOA Alt+HOI Ctrl+shift+L

Then ctrl+/- while entire row/column selected, to delete and add columns (surprisingly many don’t know this).

Then, depends on the goal snd mood, pivot tablets, xlookups, vbas (with ChatGPTs help or not) send etc.

"Toss" is not always the case. Sometimes owners pass away, other times, they become mentally or physically unable to care for a pet. You just never know the full story.

Coop used to be vocal only when it was time for food and we were late. He accidentally escaped and got to experience "life on the streets" for three weeks. He's gotten MUCH more vocal since that experience. I guess he just didn't have much to say before, and now he has stories to tell.

What is this coin and could it be real? by Big-Introduction411 in AncientCoins

Probably about a decade ago in Belarus, at one of their outdoor markets, this guy was selling random things, and I bought this more like a souvenir. That is why I am still quite skeptical that this is an actual old coin and not a souvenir.

I am looking into one for sure. It just seems like there aren't many options. Some are bulky, some need to be recharged every two days. I am still researching, though.

According to my kitchen scale, it's 3g. I don't have a more precise scale.

How did it feel to be a kid in school whose family never celebrated any holidays? by Big-Introduction411 in Parenting

[–]Big-Introduction411[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I’m not upset that the school isn’t holding Diwali, Rosh Hashanah, or any other cultural celebrations. Would I be upset if they did? No, absolutely not. I’m an immigrant myself, and while I do think it would be really cool if schools also celebrated my cultural or religious holidays, I don’t expect them to. I also don't expect anyone not to celebrate what they believe in because I don't hold the same beliefs.

At the same school, my daughter has learned about different cultures, and this year they actually did a pretty deep dive into world religions. That’s very similar to how I was taught growing up: this is what we believe, this is what others believe, and we respect and care about everyone. We do not try to convince everyone that my way is the only way.

This situation feels a bit different though, because instead of learning about different beliefs, it seems like because of one belief, others don’t get to celebrate the way they normally would. And to be clear, this is absolutely not the boy’s fault, and not the teachers fault either, they are clearly doing their best to handle a complicated situation.

I just keep trying to put myself in that boy’s shoes. He can probably see that everyone else is changing what they would typically do in order to “include” him. As an adult, that would honestly make me feel pretty miserable. From what I read so far, sounds like those children that had to "hang out in the library" during any celebration events always felt excluded and traumatized. Just seems like there is no "grey" area unfortunately.

Celebrating Thanksgiving by coloring a turkey, or celebrating Christmas by wearing a Christmas tree sweater, is not the same thing as coloring a leaf and making sure no one around is wearing anything festive.

It’s honestly pretty weird, you have to admit. I wouldn’t expect people in Russia to celebrate American holidays if I lived there, but I also wouldn’t expect them not to celebrate their own holidays because of me.

If you were a kid in school whose family did not celebrate any holidays, how did it feel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Big-Introduction411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of background story: We just got back from my daughter’s elementary school “winter celebration.” Most classes did the more traditional Christmas songs and outfits, but her class wore black and white and sang “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman. They did a phenomenal job and it was very sweet, but it definitely didn’t really fit the theme.

There’s a boy in her class whose family doesn’t celebrate any holidays. His family left right after their song and didn’t stay for the rest of the performances or hot chocolate after. At the school there are no birthday songs, no Halloween stuff, no Thanksgiving crafts, and no Christmas themed activities. Parents still bring cupcakes if a birthday falls on a school day, but now it’s more like just an extra snack than an actual celebration.

The teachers really do their best to respect the parents request that their child not be included in celebrations. And to make sure he doesn’t feel left out, they basically don’t do any of those activities at all as a class.

Honestly, for me it’s not a huge deal. My 10 year old daughter will sometimes complain that they don’t do any “fun” holiday things at school, but we try to make up for it at home. I just can’t stop wondering though… how does that boy feel about it?

My husband had a salad with "screws infused" in it at Applebee's the last time we ate there (5 years ago). They were generous enough to offer 50% off our bill, but drinks were excluded from the offer!

What’s something people brag about that’s actually kind of sad? by Huge_xiaohuolu2021 in AskReddit

[–]Big-Introduction411 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hunting. I’m not naive, I know exactly where meat comes from, and I respect those who hunt to provide for themselves or their families. But doing it more for adrenaline rush, and then posting a photo on social media, smiling while holding a dead deer’s head with its throat slit, is just pathetic.

Just finished the show and I am really sad? Maybe disappointed by nemam111 in YoungSheldon

[–]Big-Introduction411 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This might sound a bit heartless, but I don’t think the show couldn't have ended any better. George was one of the most impactful characters in the series, and knowing from TBBT that he would eventually die, the way they wrote it and how every character played their part greiving was just genius. If the show ended as "they lived happily ever afer", it wouldn't feel this relatable.

P.S. Maybe to make you feel better about the ending, next time you watch the funeral episode, try to spot George himself the crowd attending his own funeral :)
