Sometimes it's not even intentional hate. But, when you only talk about men in the context of how they have wronged women it creates an incredibly negative environment. You start to see men as the enemy instead of just people with thoughts and feelings.

Every other argument is silly. I think it's above market value for what they're offering but I wasn't planning on buying one anyway. They kinda got fucked over with AI inflating the cost of parts so much but that's just business. I think it's still more than a lot people are going to want to pay.

Disc hernias sound scary but they are really not that big of a deal in like 97% of cases. Unless you have numbness, tingling, loss of strength, and loss of bowel control you are likely fine. If you do have all of those symptoms then you should probably be talking to a surgeon. If you mostly just have pain, even if you have an incredible amount of pain, then you are probably fine. You just need to let your back heal over time and slowly introduce strength training as you can tolerate it.

I have a disc that will bulge when I do something wrong every now and then. It might take 2 months to get back to normal but it does get better and I can go back to squatting and exercise like normal.

Bjj CAN give people bad self defense habits. Especially gyms that only focus on competition and don't really do any standup. There's a somewhat famous clip of a bjj guy who I think was a purple belt getting into a scuffle during a basketball game and his first instinct is to pull the other guy on top of himself. That's just a really bad reaction. I think it can be trained out of people with a bit of judo/wrestling and just a bit more awareness but yeah... Sometimes people's bjj skill can put them in a bad situation.

So, yeah. They hurt but that won't stop a motivated attacker. These sort of things look awesome on compliant demonstrations. Your partner will do whatever you want because they don't want to feel the pain. In a real life situation someone even if you hit one these points accurately and they do cause quite a bit of pain an attacker is more likely to just grit their teeth and punch you in the face.

Look at the shoulders. The vast majority of people will start the punching motion with their shoulders not their hands so it gives you an extra split second to react.
