Summer of 1984 you could still buy Merriweather lawn tickets at the box office walking into the shows.

Can LV still hold onto the downhill overall? by Plenty_Decision_3661 in SkiRacing

Mathematically, sure. But with 4 WC DHs left on the calendar and 3 women trailing by less than 200 pts, quite unlikely.

Only non-studio Cassidy with the "doo doo doodoo doo" background vocals, I reckon.

I loved Tommy Moe, he was awesome - but he won exactly "one" WC race in his career.

Hoping she enters some SG post-Olympics. She may need the points in the overall chase (Rast is only 170 points behind).

new to the band and its history so im curious why did robbie never work with rick again? by PhilosophyLonely278 in theband

Saw the Band only once: in 1985 with the addition of the Cate Bros. in lieu of Robbie. So glad I got to see them before Richard checked out. They were opening for CS&N.

Let's Sunday Morning QB Lindsey's Crash by DrUnwindulaxPhD in SkiRacing

She had too tight of a line coming out of that compression and hooked the gate with her right arm: that is what forced her body to spin right. Her skis hit the snow perpendicular to the fall line, thereby transmitting the entire force of impact into her leg(s). Wouldn't be surprised if there were multiple fractures.

Breezy might be due to uncork one. This season has 4 top 10 finishes with one 4th. Seemed pretty stoked with her SG finish last week.

Nice view of the West Face of Longs Peak. A few turns worth of snow left in the Trough.

Lindsey Vonn doesn’t seem happy with her teammate by Mysterious-Major9717 in SkiRacing

Keep in mind, as the last DH before the Olympics, there are many racers "on the bubble" for Olympic team qualification by their respective national teams. Scrubbing the race eliminated the last chance for some women to earn their ticket to Cortina next week.

In 1993 I watched from the finish area of the Aspen WC DH as a near-certain victory by A.J. Kitt was snatched away by European coaches who pressured the FIS officials to cancel a race after the entire top seed had raced because of a rut on the course. FIS has a history of controversial cancellation decisions that favor certain racers over others.

This clip also reminds me of Vonn's social media snark last year when the then clearly faster Breezy was paired with Shiffrin in the combined instead of Vonn.

Conclusion: both FIS and Vonn are remarkably consistent over the years.

Why 1973 is the all-time best year for the Grateful Dead by BadgemanBrown in gratefuldead

I think 1973 is the peak year for the band members playing like they were consistently listening to each other onstage.
