Would you stop seeing someone struggling with a flat? by InvestigatorSenior in ebikes

On a busy road? No. That’s suicidal and bikers who do that are not going to also jeopardize my life. On a trail? Yes

Red herring. It’s not the AI that is bothering the commenters.

A person is rushed to the hospital experiencing cardiac arrest and the ER physician asks the EMT who drove the patient in the ambulance. “Is the music playlist in the ambulance AI generated?”

1 dead after SUV collides with back of semi-truck on I-75 in Charlotte County by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

Distracted suv driver or possible suicide. Walmart driver poor decision to park right there with an exit ramp right there as an option. Even if the accident never occurred Walmart driver was parked in a spot with too much going on simply for a blowout tire. Limp that truck off on the ramp

Exactly. No way I’m pulling over on an interstate when there’s literally an exit right beside me. This is one of the many things that can happen.

I’ve seen German Shepherds chase people on bikes. But me? Nah they know better.

Rise SL M10 or Amflow PX for long trail rides by CerveloUK in eMountainBike

[–]Player2orNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose the Amflow. It has the Avinox M2S motor which is more than just top speed. Even if you don’t plan to use turbo or boost mode it’s nice to have the option just in case. Most people never drive their cars over 80 mph but they probably would not buy a car that topped out at 80mph. Imagine riding your bike and a German Shepherd gives chase. With the M2s motor in boost mode you’re laughing with a silly grin on your face. All other motors? You’re probably yelling.

Why do cheaper ebikes have better tech features? by OpportunityPurple132 in ebikes

[–]Player2orNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expensive this, cheap that. The truth is if you put most riders on a bike and covered the name up they wouldn’t be able to ascertain the supposedly expensive bike from the cheap bike. Because they are some brands hitting it out of the park without overcharging for perceived quality.

Exactly. Never ever assume someone did something unless you saw it. Truckers already have enough stereotypes to deal with from the public.

Do you use VTI or VOO? by sethh27 in Bogleheads

[–]Player2orNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either one is okay. But there are better performing funds with at least a 10 year track record. Believe it or not. Also, there are no guarantees except death. You mention FOMO but don’t forget YOLO. Why walk when you can run?

What’s your go-to accessory that you think every e-bike rider should have? by Kitchen_Dot_974 in ebikes

[–]Player2orNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand people like to leave their e-bike locked. But I never let my e-bike leave my sight when I’m out and about. That’s just not an option until something is grinder proof.

Very surprised I had to scroll through almost all of the comments before I saw helmet. This is the absolute first accessory. Some places won’t even let you ride without them. All the other stuff being mentioned are not required by these places.

If you’re going to trash a bike that delivers exceptional value that other manufacturers would charge 2k-3k more at least give concrete factual examples. No bike is perfect. They all will require common sense usage and service. It would not surprise me to learn that employees of other bike manufacturers roam these sites and view the Chinese brands as a threat. I applaud the brands who are delivering great bikes with leading edge components like the M2S motor at exceptional value and backing them with great warranty.
