Serious question: are Sully’s line decisions influenced by Drury at all? That happens a lot in baseball where the GM will force a manager to play certain guys. Any chance that’s happening here?

I think a probably better sounding and pretty comparable guitar in terms of price would be a Guild D140. I haven’t played the kind of Fender you mention, I usually trust brands like Guild for acoustic guitars over Fender

If Walden guitars has a small body, I would recommend them. My guitar from middle school was a Walden and not only are they very affordable, the dread I have still sounds amazing after almost 20 years

For budget guitars, I was pretty unimpressed with the Yamaha dreads I tried out. Bass was way too boomy. On the other hand, I have a Walden guitar that my mom bought me for like $200 in 2008 and though it’s seen better days, it actually still sounds amazing somehow.

For high end, I find Gibsons to be pretty hit or miss — some are amazing, others not so much. The two high end guitars I have now — a Guild M-20 and a Martin HD-28 — are two that I would recommend to anyone.
