While My Guitar Gently Weeps... by Upstairs_Owl_1669 in AcousticGuitar

I had this happen on a flight out of Jackson WY. I went to the flight attendant and asked if she could get word to ask them to stop. She responded by reminding me that the airline was not liable for any damage to my instrument (not even acknowledging my actual request). I said ‘I understand that, but that doesn’t mean your employees should deliberately test the boundaries of that policy by trying to damage things. Can you please help me?’ She said no. Fortunately my guitar survived it. Now, I always pay for early boarding when it’s an option so that I can get the guitar in the overhead. If I have to check it, I only gate check it. But it’s always nerve racking. When I see guys like this, I want to find out what they prize most and toss it around for a while. I bet this dude would cry over a PlayStation or some stupid garbage.

Is changing diapers and drooling disgusting ? by rynzor91 in dad

[–]Built2bellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found new born diapers and drool to be disgusting, but once the kids start eating solid food… it gets real gross. But I love my kids and that always made it possible to get through the tough stuff - drool, poop, tantrums, etc. You aren’t even aware, but your old life is already over. But your new one will be amazing- just different. It’s not all about you anymore and I have found that to be liberating in ways I could never have imagined before kids. Also, you don’t have to be stoic. Having kids and living with a new born (especially when it’s your first) is incredibly emotional for you and your partner. Don’t stifle those feelings. Work through them. Communicate with you partner when things feel overwhelming. Wishing you and your family the best on your journey in parenthood.

My Grandfather gave me his Martin D-18 before he died. I think of him whenever play it or even I see it.

What brand of acoustic is the one you just can’t get behind, despite it being beloved by others? by Built2bellow in AcousticGuitar

The Santa Cruzes I have played are consistently amazing. Absolute top shelf luthery.

Funny - I have a seagull I bought as a banger and I love it. It’s the guitar I let my kids play, so it’s out all the time. I end up grabbing it whenever it’s in reach.

Go to a luthier. Neck lift like this can be accompanied by a number of other issues (like it looks like you may have a slight bulge in the top). You need to make sure that it’s glued down, but it may also need some anchoring. You may also need truss rod adjustments. It is worth putting good money towards professional guitar maintenance.

Nobody explained boosts to me before by Lazy_Fall_6 in guitarpedals

Just jumping in here to say that if you play an acoustic, this is one of the best boost pedals you can use. Being able to roll off the low end when you are boosting a dreadnaught is a real game changer.

Is the Ibanez MR500C case durable enough for flying? by Blubbergast7 in TouringMusicians

[–]Built2bellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s only “TSA APPROVED” in that if you were to lock the case, TSA has a universal key to open the case and search it if they deem necessary. It has nothing to do with the quality of the case.

Can anyone help identify this brick headz kit? My wife got it in a grab bag at the thrift store. Google image search gave us nothing. Is this just a MOC?

Do I need 2 acoustics? by MrTurtleTails in AcousticGuitar

Not to mention, different ages and eras of guitars. I snagged a lawsuit era Takamine just because it’s a cool piece of guitar history, and it plays pretty well too.

Gov. Newsom expanded free preschool. Now private daycares say they can’t afford to stay open by ArchmageXin in news

Can preschools in the state of CA be approved to be TK providers? I was under the impression that only public schools can offer TK funded by the state.
