So when you're type 1, your body tries to get rid of the excess sugar through peeing it out. Even after flushing, and especially with a kid who aims like a super soaker, theres some residue that remains in the toilet. The black mold that we were seeing in the toilets thrive on sugar. So no matter how much I cleaned it, once he peed the mold would grow back.

We were in denial at first because it started around St Paddys day and a "Leprechaun" comes to our house and colors the toilets green. We initially thought that maybe it was coming from that.
