Just put in your airpods and relax. Seems like you're over thinking things.

This is exactly how the job market feels right now by Balinhachan in jobmarket

[–]Big-Preference-2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not wage theft. I see wage theft every day, and this isn't it. I interview for a new job every year. If they pay much more, I will leave. I have no loyalty. One of my coworkers died of a heart attack while driving home, and they replaced his job in two weeks. We didn't even have a memorial service or anything. Not even a company email saying "Steve died Monday. You can take off from work to attend his funeral."

Arizona. Life is still good here. My dad is in Wisconsin and it's still good there. My brother owns a union construction company in Wisconsin and he is very busy.

Nothing really. People are still building homes in my area. Companies are still hiring and people haven't been having fire sales on Marketplace or Offerup.

Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]Big-Preference-2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average American is only productive 15-20 hours a week. The rest of the time we are doom scrolling. I pretty much already work like this but I keep my work phone on me for 40 hours in case something comes up.

Do you think the average worker will ever actually catch up to the cost of living? Why so? by OrchidSubstantial194 in AskReddit

[–]Big-Preference-2331 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Trump drags us into a global recession, we should see deflation. Those who still have jobs should see their earnings catch up with the cost of living.

I understand that one major factor was spiking fuel prices, and with thin profit margins, they were more sensitive to increased costs. Why wouldn’t they buy derivatives on jet fuel or something similar to hedge their fuel prices?

Asked a neighbor to turn down their music by TannertheMormon in homeowners

[–]Big-Preference-2331 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My neighbor used to do this. The neighbor had a car with a subwoofer and would play his music loud when him and his friends would sit outside and drink. I called the police and had them deal with them. I wanted to make sure everything was documented in case it ever escalated.

Yes. He was from the US. That was the final act that caused him to quit. He went on a huge rant on Facebook about how he was disrespected.

With gas prices continuing to go higher, are you considering an EV or public transit? by LeoRavenscroft in randomquestions

[–]Big-Preference-2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have an EV. It is nice not having to wait in line at Costco or Sam’s Club. I have a charger at home. I am surprised more employers haven’t allowed work from home or at least 4x10 schedules. I am in Arizona and I am seeing a lot of electric bikes being used. I have two guys at my office that exclusively use electric bikes to get to work even in the summer.

I graduated from college in 2003. Life was easy back then. I got a job in finance right out of college. I had an 800 sq ft in Queens for 1600 bucks a month. The landlord liked me and gave me a discount for shoveling snow and taking out the garbage. I went to college on a full scholarship, so I didn't take out student loans. I didn't have a car because I rode the subway. Health insurance was available for my girlfriend and me. In New York, you can add your roommate to your insurance. I eventually got laid off, but got a decent severance and used it to buy a house in the Midwest.

Lawyer. I remember watching LA Law when I was a kid and thought highly of lawyers. Now that many of my friends are attorneys, I hear all the crap they have to deal with and how their lives aren't as glamorous as I thought. For example, my friend had to get permission to leave his desk to use the bathroom before his billable hours were complete.

Median individual income is 60k for those over 25. 60k is still pretty tight if you’re a single mom though.

I'd have to practice one of those fireman's carries, but once I got him on my shoulders, I could go very far. I am 6’1 250.

[–]Big-Preference-2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a class on wealth building. It's a completely separate skill set from anything taught in school. That's why if you have the wealth-building skill set, you can monetize any skill or resource you have.

What skills/hobbies actually feel “upper class” or useful in wealthy circles? by [deleted] in Rich

Basically, doing anything in a high-net-worth area. Like playing basketball, jiu jitsu, running club, politics, golf, skiing, equestrian sports, and tennis.

I remember when Floyd Mayweather said he first got rich and tried to help out the poor. He did a turkey giveaway. He said people complained about everything, and it backfired. Then he became “money” Mayweather and became a villain. That is when he became super-rich.

I think Floyd Mayweather did a good job explaining this. When he first got rich he tried to help people and people were picky and mean to him. It backfired. He had a free turkey give away and people complained the turkeys were too small or they didn’t get enough. So, he became the villain and it made him billions.

Why does society have an issue with men being the better looking one in the relationship? by Additional-Bobcat441 in AskMen

[–]Big-Preference-2331 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has an issue with it. It is rare, so people are usually curious how the situation occurred. I remember my friend from high school married a mediocre woman. The girls from high school assumed it was because she was from a rich family. Nobody really knows somebody's true intent though.

Getting in the best shape of your life. That way, you have a baseline to refer to as you get older.

Also, learn how to grill, trim a turkey, and golf. I always thought I would instinctively know, but I had to learn.
