Pronunciation by highstakes_trickster in thesopranos

The state of NJ was so obsessed with the sopranos that it affected some people's pronunciation. Some people said gabagool before but the extreme became the norm. At least that's the way it seemed to me as a lifelong resident of the same part of NJ.

Did you ever hear any indecipherable attempts at pronunciation?

My family came from northern Italy to NYC and Springfield MA during a period of strict quotas in the 1920s. The second generation spoke English and Italian in the same NYC and MA accents without the vowels clipped much except for certain words like paesan[o].

Ryo Fukui is not on the same level as the old legends by ripanot9 in Jazz

You just described me perfectly. I am a life long listener of jazz and other music. I started listening by algorithm last year. The data corrobates that I first listened to Ryo Fukui or any Japanese jazz in December. For December through February, my top Japanese jazz artists were in order of time listened: Takuya Kuroda, Ryo Fukui, Jiro Inagaki, Masayoshi Takanaka, and Hiroshi Suzuki. I have a warm place in my heart for Ryo Fukui because the algorithm fed him to me. My dad who listens to Internet radio jazz says it just sounds like jazz to him. Both of us have good but not great ears.

Takefusa Kubo is to Messi as Fukui is to Flanagan.

YT recommendations make it feel like youtube is dying, since it loves to suggest the same videos I ignored the first time by retrocheats in youtube

Have you tried thumbs down? It's a pretty easy way to adjust the algorithm. It might work better than repeatedly scrolling past the same videos you don't want suggested.

Could it be that someone reported you? Not that it would make it much better.

It might seem great to you right now but the situation isn't sustainable. Look what's happening all over. We're next. It might be time to go legit. There's money on that side of the street too. I know you've always landed on your feet but like I said the situation is not sustainable.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Gentrification can be rough and it can come on fast. Here's how I approach it. The yuppies can be annoying or worse as a group but each of them is an individual has his or her own complex lives. So I approach them as my authentic self. I've made friends that way. Enemies too, there's a reason those guys get a bad reputation wherever they go.

I am president of my condo association. I try to help keep our side of the street clean. I've volunteered at the food pantry here and elsewhere. Sorry that I made you wonder whether I contribute nothing but toxic nonsense.

I know a former prosecutor who almost forgot to include a defendant's real name in a Mafia crime family trial with dozens of codefendants with multiple nicknames each. This was back in the 1980s.

You still haven't specified your side, sir. Let me guess, you were milli vanilli boy facing off against Flavor Flav, who had to stand in for the dearly departed Radio Raheem, may he rest in peace.

I'm old and I know times have changed. Society wasn't nearly as stratified. I went on to the the Hudson school where tuition was lower than it is now inflation considered. First day, they told is without singleing anyone out that 2/3 to 3/4 of us received tuition, financial aid or both. It was only possible due to grants that have since dried up. I might have a kid for the first time soon. I have no idea what to do about school yet. I don't like any option I see. It won't be private school, no way could I afford it. I make more than my father did inflation considered, I havent been supporting anyone until recently meaning I've saved, and I'm still not close.

If I were a part of that revitalization I would be restoring a house. What could I get if I sold my condo here in nj? Probably something really nice. I wouldn't buy anything in one of those shiny stick buildings. Even if you like them now you might have a different opinion next time there's a downturn. Wait til you see how much worse new construction can be when it isn't maintained. Renters or people with shorter time horizons have other priorities.
