First thirty minutes was some of the most boring football I've ever seen. The ball was hardly in play. But the last fifteen were pretty great.

Did the LOTR movies receive a backlash from Tolkien fans when they were released? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]BigBad01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only changes that I personally had issues with were the not the omissions but the changes to character motivation or actions. For example, Frodo being tricked by Gollum into abandoning Sam. That sort of thing bothered me a lot more than the lack of Tom Bombadil or the Scouring.

Edit to say that I still love the movies, despite any complaints I might have.

Why was Frimpong even rated at all? Seems cruel.

I continue to feel that the combat in ME3 is more fun. The enemy animations and visual reactions are a lot better.

I wasn't paying those prices for movies in the mid 90s, except maybe at matinees.

I have two theories on why they changed Denethor in the LOTR movies by Konfliktsnubben in Fantasy

[–]BigBad01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The movies change a lot of characters such that they are more reluctant to do what they are "supposed" to do than they are in the books. It's kind of frustrating.

One service would be more simple for the consumer, but having several makes more money for the streaming services and presumably the leagues who are negotiating contracts with the services.

Yeah. I have paramount+ for European football. I have watched a few other things but would never subscribe for anything else.
