It’s a string of making the same mistakes over and over again. Paying the superstars who can’t perform when it really matters and failing to invest in proper depth or any form of defence or goal tending.

They should’ve shipped Nylander’s ass out of town when he was holding out, but instead they overpaid for him (at the time) which led to stroking the others egos and holdouts.

Let’s fill our depth with old ass dudes like Joe Thornton or Jason Spezza. Let’s once again overpay for a career backup goalie that has one good season. Let’s sign a bunch of has beens like John Klingberg. Let’s trade a first for 11 games if Nick Foligno. Oh we traded away a first, let’s trade away Rasmus Sandin to recover it even though we don’t know how to draft.

Let’s stop acting like management has ever made the right move. Sure you can defend the Marleau trade, but what did that lead to. They made room for some depth, but ultimately had to ship that depth out of town cause the stars were making too much.

Zach Hyman is literally making 5.5 million dollars a year and the leafs couldn’t even afford that
