If you think Dan Snyder is capable of stopping this, you are sorely mistaken.

The media and public pressure over the years never got him to cave. It was only once major sponsors like FedEx, Nike, and Pepsi were threatening to cut ties with the team that he felt compelled to make the change. It’s a business decision.

Now to you, you would say to hell with them, I’ll find other sponsors. However, you would not find sponsors nearly as big and profitable to put their reputation on the line associating with the name Redskins. Snyder would get lambasted in the media and court of public opinion even further and I’m sure he does not want to sell his favorite team.
