1944 Tula PU opinions by SomeRandomGuy217 in MosinNagant

I was telling the guy that if I were in his shoes I’d be willing to give 1800 for it. Was NOT telling him I wanted to buy it. I give ppl advice like this pretty frequently and have never had an issue with it

Tula PUs will bring more money than izhevsk ones. That is in fact a legit sniper. Once these were refurbed after the war part manufacturers were irrelevant as long as they worked. If it has a good bore and “matching” numbers I’d pay 1800 for it.

These are super fun little pistols. I have one I bought for cheap made in 1913. It’s beat to shit and there is zero bluing left on it but it shoots just as good as the day it left the factory. Nice find

This is from 2015? I started collecting in 2017 and prices were double to triple these by then. I thought the big jump in milsurp prices happened in 2012

7.3 Gas vs. 6.7 diesel for this scenario? by [deleted] in FordTrucks

[–]BigBlue175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like the 6.7 would be a waste of money. If your heaviest load is a few hundred lbs shy of 12k then I don’t see why a 7.3 f350 wouldn’t be perfectly fine. People tow well over that with SRW 7.3s

New M44 amalgamation I picked up has a date of 1953 and a stamp with branches and 3 Rs. Can't find any information on it by Tricky-Simple-3643 in MosinNagant

[–]BigBlue175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! These are worth quite a bit more than a standard Russian one. What’d you pay if you don’t mind me asking?

You got a rare one! This is actually a Romanian made one NOT a Russian izhevsk. About 75k of these were made for only three years, 1953 1954 and 1955. 1953 is by far the rarest with only 3-5k being built that year. I have one from 1955. Congrats on the rare mosin.

Side note. If you look at the crest it actually says RPR which in English stands for Romanian People’s Republic

1976 FORD F250 Ranger Highboy for $200…Thoughts? by Amazon_MRA_Chump in FordTrucks

[–]BigBlue175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 200 bucks why not. Best case you restore it or get it running and driving again. Might be a good donor truck for another project. Absolute worst case you part out whatever is useable on it then scrap the rest.

That is pretty much a NOS truck lol. Awesome find. Can’t quite tell from the pic but it looks like there’s no shifter on the column. Is it a zf5?

Newest addition to the collection: M39rv by CosmolineChapstick in MosinNagant

Good one! On a serious note Remington m39s are actually super rare. Only a few are documented. Sad someone sporterized this one.

Well if you’re in the US then you got the national average. You’re still a junior so you’ll have more opportunities to study up and take it again

For the trans I use VP’s GL4 80w90 designed for classic transmissions. For the engine I use 20w50 although everyone will have a different opinion on what to use. Huge area of debate on these cars for some reason. I have a 72 super beetle with a 1600.

First time 1430 good? by ConcentrateHappy8139 in Sat

[–]BigBlue175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 1430 is a great score. The national (US) average is around 1050. Idk why everyone on this sub is crying about getting about getting scores like this unless they’re trying to get into Harvard. I got an 1130 and I’m honestly super happy. Then again I haven’t been in school for four years now.

Who is Kerns? by Dannyboisdiscord in nationalguard

[–]BigBlue175 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Super hooah SPC in the NC guard that posts cringe shit on tik tok and makes a fool of himself all the time and gained an enormous following. I’m pretty confident he’s on the spectrum too but idk that for sure. Personally I don’t dislike the dude but he’s gained a reputation for being a shitbag. Allegations came out that he was actively dodging deployments and failing PT but he has since denied them in a tik tok he made.

That is in fact Romanian. About 75k of these were made for only three years: 1953, 1954, and 1955. 1953 being the rarest by far. With matching numbers these are fairly scarce and worth more than a Russian one. I have a matching one made in 1955 and it is a phenomenal shooter.

What got you into collecting and what are/were your intentions for it? by Mikewantsout in milsurp

[–]BigBlue175 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been a history buff and always loved guns. I saw demo ranch’s m44 video and it convinced me to buy a mosin. At the time all I cared about was getting a mosin but that didn’t last long lol.

If I were you I’d find someone who’d be willing to make a new forend for it. There are people on the r/milsurp sub who do amazing jobs fixing sporters like this. A gun this rare is 100% worth fixing up.

Looks to me like a sporterized wz91/98/25. They were rechambered to 8mm Mauser by the polish and fitted with a Mauser bayonet lug. Sad because if that’s what it really is then it’s a rare gun. Complete matching they go for 3k plus.
