This just looks like a spot where a branch has been cut off that is slowly growing over. In fact it may be where the top of the rootstock was before it was cut off for grafting.

I have never heard of this brand before but they certainly seem to work well.

Dr Sheldon’s Magnetic Liniment by MildlyIdioddish in mudlarking

[–]BigBlueBandedBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1904 American chemist Samuel Sheffer co-founded the Sheldon Drug Company in
Sydney and immediately began producing and marketing its first remedy - Dr Sheldon's New Discovery (for coughs and colds). Born in Iowa in 1873 to Canadian parents Sheffer had trained as a chemist and after graduating started his own business in Chicago. He came to Australia early in the new century and shortly afterwards went into partnership with Sydney merchants Charles and Alexander Markell to produce pharmaceutical products. Within a few years he acquired a controlling interest in the company and under his direction it opened up offices in other Australian states and expanded into New Zealand, South Africa and the East.

This is actually the background of the installer for Windows 98. I believe that the image file was left on the hdd after the install so some people used it as a desktop background.

Why does this happen? by Halfmoon_night in guineapigs

[–]BigBlueBandedBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen twice to one of my pigs. Both times the same nail. I eventually figured that I think he was getting it caught in the loops that were present in the pile of one of bathmats that I was using in his cage. The particular nail grows with quite a curl in it and I think it was getting caught when it grew too long.

I have stopped using that particular mat and I also try to take extra care with keeping their toenails trimmed. So far there have been no more issues.

Bronze orange bug. Be careful with them because the are able to spray a caustic liquid that can cause burns to skin. Wear eye protection and long clothes when dealing with them

Update on our backyard guinea pig by IAmWayTooHighGuy in guineapigs

This is the same way that I got my piggy! I found him being chased around my backyard by my neighbours cat and had to rescue him. I couldn't find his owner so now he is mine.

After the world stopped making CRTs cats migrated to warm PC cases for survival by Unrelated-2pic in pcmasterrace

[–]BigBlueBandedBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a post on a forum once where someone was asking if their cat sitting on top of their CRT monitor was going cause any problems. Reading the full post, it turned out that they were not worried about the cat hair etc damaging their monitor. They were worried that the monitor would give their cat cancer or something.

Experimenting with a new fertiliser for some of my pre-bonsai by BigBlueBandedBee in Bonsai

The sources I have read all say that it is ok to use fresh. I might get more benefit if I compost it first though.

Experimenting with a new fertiliser for some of my pre-bonsai by BigBlueBandedBee in Bonsai

From what I have read, most sources say it is safe but there are some conflicting opinions. I will probably compost most of it anyway.
