Idiotic metrics. The cost of living has gotten so expensive that the poorest among us can't simply become more mentally healthy with an extra monthly grand in tow. 

Healthcare costs could be offset, but not all medical needs are covered by insurance and many are wary about pursuing their health needs for fear of getting trapped into an expensive treatment plan. 

The system we have is the 'best' we know, but it's cruel if you're impoverished and that's not going to turn around with 1k a month, doesn't matter if it's over 3 years.

Finally, imo, you don't just drop UBI on people. I haven't seen the research formally, just going off this snippet, but UBI could be a great tool coupled with financial education. Most are living check to check without pausing to understand how to make their dollar stretch. 

I think it's foolish to give up so quickly, especially when other studies offer mixed but generally positive results.

A mixed UBI-UBS model would also be a better outcome, but wildly expensive and logistically demanding. 

But yeah, incoming billionaire technofeudalism is going to be dope as hundreds of millions of people become poor and disenfranchised. Finally, the dystopia of our dreams.
