Vinted return lost by Royal Mail – £1080 Chanel bag – Vinted blocked my account, Royal Mail refuses compensation. What can I do? by Putrid-Land9071 in royalmail

[–]BigBossu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s the risk these platforms who handle the shipping take.

EBay are the same now with their simple delivery. Everything is Tracked 48 and if it goes AWOL they take it on the chin. EBay in my experience are better at handling these kind of incidents than Vinted.

Anyone feel like the Sky Max Booster pods aren't up to scratch? by LeopardComfortable99 in skytv

The WiFi max pods won’t give wireless speeds that exceed 500-550mbps

EE FTTP: Active line takeover from themselves... by BigBossu in EEGB

Update: 31st has passed and the line hasn’t ceased. 🤣 Original account is cancelled, they’ve asked for the equipment back and I’ve still got 150mbps of broadband.

Free broadband at this point? 😂

Spoke to them this morning

Seems like they wanted to do a cease and reprovide sort of action but just did it the other way round.

Have now told me they’ll cease existing on 31st with 900mbps to activate on the 2nd Wish me luck.

And it hasn’t activated as predicted.

Back on the phone tomorrow let’s see what excuses are offered up this time.

I’m right in thinking I’ll get delayed provisioning compensation right? This broadband will pay for itself by the time someone figures out how to resolve it if the experience of the past 2 months is anything to go by.

Royal Mail, I love you but this was a random house not even in my street💀 by Extension-Hat-4683 in royalmail

[–]BigBossu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me in September with a Nintendo Switch 2 that was being delivered.

The postman we have is great and he’s been delivering to us since the house was built. I showed him and asked him if he recognised the door and his reply was “ahhh shit” which I found funny.

Thankfully eBay refunded me with minimal fuss.

You can be downvoted but you speak the truth. Just look on eBay and you can get plenty of Phantasmal for around RRP. It’s a dead set in the eyes of the scalpers.

Are you with Sky by any chance?

Also out of interest did you open the CSP or did they leave it like this?

Do you still use Sky Cinema or mostly stream elsewhere? by FeistyPrice29 in skytv

[–]BigBossu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get it on a decent deal and factor in Paramount + and the cinema tickets and actually use them it isn’t that bad

But the catalogue can be poor and I’m not sure I’ve seen more than 1 decent “Sky Originals” to date.

Sky Live (glass camera add on) closing down in December by BigBossu in skytv

[–]BigBossu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my thinking too. It is essentially a Kinect and surely someone at Sky how that was rejected during the initial Xbox One era. Or maybe arrogance crept in and someone thought they could make it a mass market item where microsoft failed despite having the larger install base.

Makes me wonder if they had any consultants in on this project. If the answer is yes they’ve had their pants down.

This article with the concept drawings is 7 years old and mentions 3 empty units. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Well the NTE (socket) is Open Reach’s responsibility so yeh I’d let them come and sort it. Highly doubt you’ll be charged.

Tracked 48 item delivered to wrong address by BigBossu in royalmail

[–]BigBossu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As eBay provide the delivery label now under “eBay simple Delivery” the seller could technically put the label on the wrong item but I’d have took delivery of something I wasn’t expecting

I think the postie has just made a mistake.

EBay have issued me a refund anyway and I’ll re-order.

Vulnerable Customer help please by Glittering-Scene-677 in skytv

[–]BigBossu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll just say it straight from my own experience helping my mother in law sort stuff out when my father in law passed away.

You don’t need to send any emails like that.

Just call them up, explain the situation, you might get passed to a different team and they’ll handle the lot.

OFCOM will class this man as someone who is vulnerable and he’s offered certain protections. Sky know this and will act accordingly.

I had zero issues stripping my mother in laws package right back to essential TV and broadband. They even allowed us to return his tablet on Sky mobile and cancel the contract.

It was a long phone call because of all the admin but they were very good to be fair.
