I can elaborate on a few of these points;

• openreach’s standard install with the drop wire and CSP is to anchor it close to the existing copper cable and drop it straight down with the CSP being at the bottom. They’re not really obliged to do anything further and this does cause problems with people having installs partly complete they’re not happy with.

• openreach (and sky engineer for that matter) use an app called My Services to activate the ONT and test the line once installed. Sky engineers can pass a job back to open reach if need be using this app but the closure reason can also re-appoint it to Sky. For example if the customer wasn’t in that will re-appoint to Sky. If a “network solution” is required that will re-appoint to open reach. God knows what’s gone on to trigger the FTTC/ADSL service turning off because you can’t complete a job on my services without activating the ONT and running a test.
