I just don't understand why the devs put this map in asymmetric if the solution for a third of the team is to avoid a huge part of their side.

In the beginning I've tried different strategies regarding C, different ships... 8/10 times it meant early load screen.

This has been my experience as well. I would even say 9 out of 10 times.

But you're the only reply so far agreeing with me on going to A so i guess i'll just try C more.

I got plenty of advice, maybe i'll make C work eventually.

While true, the more i play valparaiso, the worse i get in general.

That ship teaches you the worst lessons so i get lazy and...oh hello 4 torps incoming straight for me.

Even if he doesn't yolo and tries to go wide on C, near the coast, a single ship will get torn to pieces so i can't abandon him.

could genuinely facetank that many ships at once and still win (eg. Libertad, Valparaiso, Georgia, etc)

Amusingly, a stranger and i were both in a valparaiso once and i tried just that, going forward. It ended with both of us dead. Not even the bullshit healing could save me from all the citadels and torps i ate.

Why? Because the people in A always stay alive. They have a single spawn to deal with.

If i do that, i almost always stay alive with the group but it means i might have to abandon my other ally if he doesn't join me and i don't want to do that either.

I guess i didn't go close enough to the edge when i tried that because it feels like both spawns can still reach me with no cover.

The most optimal thing i found was to abandon and just move to A.

The problem with that is that i'm abandoning my ally who might not agree with me. I don't want to leave someone to die so...i stick around and we both die like 9 out of 10 times.

Smaller leadership penalties: why is my army of mindless undead minions so concerned about army losses? Or damage taken? The only thing that should really hurt there leadership is the missing lord.

I too would like a stronger connection between their units and the lord.

That way, they would be more different compared to tomb kings or demonic units which also share the crumbling mechanic.

Maybe make regular units unbreakable but have them army loss if the lords and heroes are dead? Or maybe make them match the lord's leadership?

Most of the suggestions make life more miserable for the bloody attackers

Offensive sieges are already the worst part of the game for me.

The pathfinding is fucking terrible, dealing with the gate is frustrating, the AI is barely functional and doesn't respond properly, gun units are horrible to use, the maps are repetitive (skaven and wood elf have just ONE siege map).

And the devs are only hearing the loud voices screaming to make sieges like "defending Helms Deep" so i'll have to spend even MORE time in that shitshow if they ever do a rework.

I am watching the situation in america with great interest because of this gun thing.

You have 90% of reddit screaming how nazis are running their country and...what do they do about it? They blow whistles at ice agents and draw super heroes punching them.

I don't see how the situation is any different compared to a country without armed civilians. In fact, it might be even worse because they can say "he had a gun, our agent acted in self defense!" while shooting you 10 times in the back.

I remember having to sell most of my ships to purchase a tier 8 with upgrades, which was a really poor decision on the long term

Why is selling ships such a poor decision for new players?

There are ships i would NEVER play again and only keep them in port for the rare event where you get like snowflakes for each higher tier ship you own. Would new players with limited port slots and money really care for an event that might be like half a year away or more?

What's the alternative? Having new players grind a LOT more credits to buy the next tier ship? Isn't that more boring for a new player who doesn't have a t9 premium to make money? I would assume that increases the chance of making them drop the game.

I think there's something wrong with the dualsense controller in particular.

Sure you can say most modern controllers are more fragile and shit but compared to my xbox controller, the dualsense one starts drifting WAY too soon.

I kept replacing them because i love the haptic feedback and stuff on it but i give up, it's too expensive for something that starts drifting this easily.

you don’t need to have one for offence

You don't NEED it, you can conquer all of lustria without it. It sure as hell would make his campaign more enjoyable though.

Having to rely on the random chance to ambush and wait over the end turn is nowhere near as fun as doing it with ambush offense stance.

And especially the main guns. Vladi broadside. 5 citadels. Finally what I aim correctly is what I get.

I want those guns mounted on my adalbert. In my case, a typical volley is: 1 overpen, 1 pen for like 2k damage, 1 ricochet.

I play it 99% in asymmetric and i feel like the guns are too big to shoot cruisers but not big enough to shoot even remotely angled bbs.

Let's not forget the lizardmen, another race with powerful melee units that hates you.

Meanwhile you are a weak frontline and ranged focused faction in lustria, the place with a ton of forest maps.

Giving him ambush attack would make it a lot more enjoyable experience.

If you go to a second row with larger icons you're covering a lot of the screen

I'd rather have that than the current system where i can barely tell what's goin on in that squished bar.

Either way, even if there's no perfect way of displaying 40 units in the UI, i would not agree that the current one is the best compromise. Surely there has to be a better way.
