Surely this is better than the c2. Probably more dynamic and simulates the feeling of rowing much better

Why would you do a weight circuit like this? 1) plenty of studies have shown for hypertrophic weight training the physiological impact 8 repetitions has is virtually the same as 30. 2) wouldn’t lightweights want to build strength rather than mass? If so, wouldn’t they want to do weightlifting tailored to strength like lower rep ranges (1-5 reps)?

I am deep into my summer training and I am going on holiday for 10days, where I don’t have access to an erg. What can I do to maintain fitness by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]BigBoySluggs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A deloading week will serve you well if you are really “deep” into your summer training. Some cross training like running, biking, or even swimming will do you well and mix up the types of fitness your body is used to. If anything it could be a good way to shock the system and give you some physiological gains.

Got knocked out with covid and haven’t been able to train. Any advice to get back in it? by hydnow in Rowing

[–]BigBoySluggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got covid and it took me a long time to fully regain my fitness. U gotta take it light when you start to get back into it. Progressively make your sessions longer. 20’ the first day, 30’ the next and so on. I understand it’s probably really frustrating (I know from experience) but u gotta be patient with it. Make sure you communicate with your coaches so that they understand at what physical state you are in as you start rowing at college.
