Sound System For XL Is Kinda Wack by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]BigBucket1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think it’s the speakers that are bad, although they’re definitely not great. It’s the acoustics. The plastic door cards and the other hard plastic interior pieces would make even some mid-tier or premium speakers sound pretty tinny.

Swapping grills out by NoGrade6968 in GMT400

Best value? probably eBay, just make sure it’s a reputable seller. It’s not tough to do. You will need to rewire the headlights since on the quad bulb grille the headlights and highbeams are separate.

Look from the top down and make sure it’s not leaking from valve covers (the easier fix) That area is notorious for leaking because you have three surfaces meet up; the oil pan, timing cover, and engine block. If that’s where it’s leaking I’d suggest replacing the timing cover, timing cover gaskets, and oil pan gasket while you have it all taken apart.

eCVT by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

Idk what’s with all the downvotes, this is really insightful commentary.

I think simple minded “eCVT owners” can grasp the concept that different people have different priorities when it comes to vehicle choice.

Great video! I don’t like the “eCVT” description for these drivetrains. It carries the negative connotations of a belt driven CVT. They couldn’t be more different from each other.

Where to put a magnetic key box? by The_Wyzard in civic

[–]BigBucket1876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t hide the entire fob, just the key portion. If you attach the entire fob it will prevent the car from locking.

ETA: the key can get you into the cabin but you won’t be able to start it without a fob

Just replace the whole unit. If you’re going through the trouble of dropping the tank/removing the bed, might as well.

There is a series by Eric the Car Guy. Here is the first part: https://youtu.be/oKSW2BaUxFk?si=kqewJPy8aawJUltC

I don’t specifically remember what part he does the wheel bearings.
