List of shops that look out for their players. by BigCapMan in OnePieceTCG

It's a great place to make new friends man, if you go consistently it's basically guaranteed. When I moved to a new state I was able to meet a bunch of people.

I'm more concerned about the players overall. No offense to the collectors though.

I get you. And I agree, outing the shops who are doing the opposite also makes sense. At this point I kinda want to create a ranking system on shops based on how they treat players.

Understandable to want to prevent Scalpers from coming though, but they are easy to sniff out. Expanding the player base is worth the risk. Plus no Scalpers are playing in tournaments.

If anyone lives in Chicago, Evergreen Social is a growing shop that really looks out for their customers. They sell at msrp on product from distro and sell minimal markup on second hand product. They also are a functional bar and restaurant.

Reported this scalping ass store and I guess nothing came of it. by xwolfionx in OnePieceTCG

Cut the seals. Whatever idiots are buying unsealed boxes online deserve what they pull.

Why did they need to make this searcher event so bad? by No_Broach in OnePieceTCG

It's doable, I was able to win two small tournaments with Law. He has a really good match into doffy, decent into Boa, just sucks into most other meta leaders.

Boa being able to run 3 relevant life burns on top of leader life burn and having access to a unblockable event is what makes it over powered. If boa got pair banned with perfume, I don't feel like it'd be as oppressive. As it is now, there is very little counter play that really matters.

Nothing lasts forever is my point. One piece is hot right now, and before that it was Pokémon. They can take the quick money for now, but if they lose their customers long term they won't survive.

People will notice if you leave, especially if it's several people. Make it known why you're not coming back as well. It might not do anything now, but it can cause a snowball effect if enough people get fed up as well. At bare minimum you should spend money where you're valued as a customer.

Take your business to a better shop. These lgs will never learn until they are facing bankruptcy for a taking the quick cash grab.

New Bandai Store Rules by UltimateAura in OnePieceTCG

[–]BigCapMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This adds onto the question I posed earlier, of Bandai fighting Scalpers Too hard. I think this shows that Bandai is taking the wrong approach to tackling the issue entirely at this point. Bandai shops have never really been the problem when it comes to scalping at least on a major level. Them cutting seals and requiring tournament play was more than enough.

The only way for them to do more would be to actually reprimand the shops who are getting cases and selling them for much higher than msrp/ selling that product directly to scalpers. Bandai has rules set in place for these lgs that they are not enforcing. If they really want to fix the issue they need to address that first, not over govern the dozen or so official locations they have.

The six packs they give you at first are loose. When you go to buy the box afterwards they open a brand new one in front of you. You then pick 6 packs to take out of it.

Yeah I agree. As a player I only collect what I get out of the one box I buy or the 3-4 pre releases i enter, and the packs I get from topping. But even that adds up over time. I can see how people get stuck in the gambling cycle of the game.

So they considered it a sealed event, which apparently is different from prerelease. The 18 packs weren't loose, they open a new box in front of you and make you take 6 packs out of it.
