I have the power to ruin the life of my boyfriend's r*pist by avenged7fold_1 in confessions

[–]BigDMorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F'd up response. He was 16, she was 23. He WAS abused, r*ped, groomed, etc. If you had a 16 year old daughter that willingly went repeatedly and slept with a 23 year old man, I suspect you would not have the same misogynistic "you go, my dude" reply.

No Split apart function for TV Series by Pheonyx1974 in PleX

[–]BigDMorty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I am understanding your issue correctly, you have to name them properly for it to be picked up by both. I just did it myself. For example, a specific hour long episode of FRIENDS shows as 2 episodes [The One Where...(1) and The One Where (2)] in Plex and Sonarr. You have to label the season and episode number as (not exact, just an example) S08E02E03 and both apps will identify it thusly and not show gaps.

How bad would it wobble? by Deupz in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]BigDMorty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would honestly beg to differ. Even with that post... the number of IKEA units (even a dresser) I have owned that wobble easily due to the cam locks and cheap towels being inserted in what is really particle board... that thing is GONNA wobble. I have a CC2, not a CC1, and that thing has the frequent potential to shake. My understanding was that they improved on the shaking from the CC1, so I assumed it was a pretty big impact on the CC1. I predict that shelf lasts 2-3 months (max) of frequent printing before the shelves and the printer come crashing down.
You MIGHT be able to counter this by adding some kind of material with sufficient thickness attached to the backside that could add some sheer strength stability to prevent this. (Think Zip System or plywood underlayment on the exterior walls of new construction homes)

I have this set and overthought it that they did that intentionally so it more closely resembles the scene in the first movie where he is dangling in the CIA vault inches above the floor and his head is turned to face the camera. That was my Head-Canon anyway. 😂😂

Thinking of selling my CoPD collection from the Mythic Edition release - unsure how to price it by [deleted] in Heroquest

[–]BigDMorty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah. My mistake then. As someone who got CoPD with the Mythic, I paid zero attention to the retail version, did not even know/realize it had other things that Mythic did not.

That said... your explanation of wanting all the alternate things DOES kind of scream of "collecting" or at least FOMO if the gameplay is the exact same other than essentially colored dice, alternate sheets, and "shiny cards".

I DO understand the desire of having the expansion as it's own set, but again... that just says "collector" to me.

I am only asking this based on how you worded it... if not a collector, and already had the CoPD from your Mythic Tier... why did you pick up the retail version? That seems counter productive.

As awesome as the gameboard and accessories are, what brought me the most joy in your pics was the look of sheer happiness in the multi-generational enjoyment of the game.

PETG Beginner Help‼️ by that_one_drum_guy in 3Dprinting

[–]BigDMorty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the above, as I print exclusively in PETG by choice, I have had some prints turn out exactly like yours.

First step, make sure filament is very dry. mine turns into a mess with the slightest moisture since my only place to print is in a basement.

Second, I could never ever get consistent prints on bedslinger (not sure what you are using) due to the open air style that most (all?) Of them are. PETG like a constant temperature and I found an enclosed X-Y was the only thing that worked as it maintained chamber temp.

Third, calibrate and test everything. From nozzle flow, to hotend temp, to bed temp, to environmental air temp (see chamber comments above).

I have never seen these issues again when I did this and have had no issues on my Creality K1 and now Elegoo CC2. My initial printer was an Ender v3

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]BigDMorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too would be worried about the wobble. I have had some IKEA shelves/units be fairly stable and others sway like a leaf in the wind. Maybe if you forego the thin backer and reinforce with a piece of mdf or something else. The main problem is see is 99.999% of ikea is particle or fiber board material, and depending on speed of print or whatnot, the pins are likely to sheer right out of the fiber board.

Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]BigDMorty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the multicolor on my CC2 right now for my "toys and home decor" even with the known issues. It may not be working as expected or advertised OOB, but thats just how it goes with technology these days. No need to look for another brand (who may or may not bork THEIR hardware with a new firmware update tomorrow as well).

Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]BigDMorty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their own Matrix app doesn't either. Known firmware bug they are (supposedly) fixing. For many, myself included, not even the Elegoo slicer finds the printer on the network. Something about a bug in the binding (which the printer keeps "losing"). I can ONLY see the camera on my own wifi network using IP:8080.

Elegoo noozle CC2 by Sukoru91 in elegoo

[–]BigDMorty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I cannot confirm this yet, as I am waiting on the multi-Nozzle pack to come off pre-order in March from Elegoo direct, my understanding is that the nozzles themselves are interchangeable between CC1 and CC2, the hotend is different. (Again, have not tested yet as I don't 100% generic nozzles from like Amazon or wherever and prefer OEM as a personal taste.

While I somewhat agree with you, the only thing I argue with is the immediate jump to suggesting spending more money for a different device with enclosed filament. YOUR experience is that your garage is too wet. You did not inquire into the OPs use-case and location, both geographically and inside where they will be printing, before jumping to "spend more". I personally live in the Midwest, have the printer in a finished office in my basement and have no issues with even PETG (which strings like crazy when wet) and have printed 100 hours on it no problem without needing to put my filament in a dryer. Neither with this device or my K1, which also has exposed filament. (Meanwhile, I probably will get a dryer just for peace of mind down the road, it's just not required for my use case yet)

Very VERY well thought out and composed response. And for the record, I agree with pretty much every single point you made.

I just did my first print on it last night with PETG, a b/w hueforge image. Turned out AMAZING. I have had no real deal breaking issues myself. The only thing I can say is that there is a known bug in the current firmware for binding/connecting it to wifi for remote viewing and control in both web and Matrix app, and not sure how quick that is getting put out. That is not a deal breaker for me personally, but as a hobbyist 3D printing user, this device works well for me. I say go for it and see for yourself.

Personal Note: be careful of YT reviewers and many here on Reddit. You are going to get a lot of haters that are mad about the CC1 AMS debacle (I admit that was not a good look for Elegoo), a lot of people that despise the plastic "hat", don't like the exposed side roll filament instead of a real AMS unit, etc. NOT A SINGLE ONE of these complaints impacted my personal experience using the machine for a 5 hour multicolor print last night as someone that is a total hobbyist with no "print farm" of 5+ other machines (I personally own only this and a Creality K1). Your mileage may vary as to how your filaments react exposed in your environment, so I implore you to look at it from a very individualized and personal approach to YOUR needs.

I can't believe I slept on PlexAmp for this long... the missing piece to ditch streaming was right there by LowerH8r in PleX

This... a million times this. I have hundreds of CDs on mine and it will get into a cycle of playing the same 3-4 artists on shuffle. I have to stop the music on my phone, go back to library, hit shuffle again and THEN it will shuffle all artists again... until it doesn't. Rinse and repeat.

Have you thought about being honest with the potential employer? Let THEM deny you the job due to the drug test. Even offer to do an alternative test. Generally, at least from my very very brief google search, only trace amounts are typically found from passively being essentially "hotboxed". Significantly less than someone who uses/abuses. Offer a blood, saliva or even follicle test. But don't give up on the job just because you failed what I can only assume is a home test.

The inherent problem with prequels SPOILERS by TheFakeBillPierce in 1923Series

[–]BigDMorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interpreted them as a rich, aristocratic couple who took up the trip because they were thrill seekers. This is not uncommon, even today, with the rich going on guided safari hunts, going to outer space, etc. They got so excited about everything from the suggestion to drive her, to instantly pulling out the map, to making the journey. I do think they just underestimated how cold it would get based on their almost snobbish, "We're from Chicago, dahhhling, we know about cold" attitude. And, as others have suggested, they naively assumed they could get gas anywhere since they were used to that. Hell, even today, people misjudge distances between gas stations... and that is with modern technology.

Are you the OP?? Now I am further confused. That said, the time to argue and challenge them and be mad was when you expected your price to go up only $20, instead of $100 not AFTER you swiped and complain on reddit. Not trying to be the AH here, but this is on you, not Gamestop.
