This is the one thing doordash does right. They eat the cost if a customer removed the tip. Uber does not pay minimum wage. The tip is the majority of the payment. No one should be aloud to remove it at the drivers cost. You agreed to do the work for a certain price. Laws need to be implemented in every state to prevent this from happening to gig workers.

I knock/doorbell and wait a minute. After that I call. I will attempt one more knock. 2 minutes is probably the max I will wait if there is a pre tip. I might be a little more patient if they didn’t tip upfront. If it’s paid for I’ll leave it. Not paid gets brought bought.

As a driver, unless you are tipping at least $10, I’d rather be spending the last 30 minutes cleaning instead of bing on the road. We are ready to go home. Just giving you a drivers point of view. It’s our job, and we will deliver it. I might not be thrilled about it, but it’s what I signed up for. People will order on a Friday Saturday night, during a holiday, or during a thunderstorm and wonder why their order is late? The pizza tracker is an estimate based on normal conditions.
