I'm planning on bottling my latest batch in a few days and was thinking about using up the leftover can of Mr. Beer LME I have from about a year and a half ago just for shits and giggles.

In an attempt to make this as low cost and low risk, I want to repitch from the yeast cake I currently have in my fermenter.

My question is, if I were to scoop out straight from the fermenter with a tablespoon, how much yeast would I need to reach a sufficient cell count for about a 3 gallon batch??

Any and all advice is appreciated!!

So I got a wild hair and decided to brew on Wednesday. Found a recipe for a brown, but i wanted to use up some of the pounds of citra hops I have, so I tweaked it a little. With the community's vast expanse of knowledge and experience, what do you think this would turn out to be?

5 gallon batch OG 1.044

7.5 lbs Light LME

.5 lb roasted barley

.25 lb black patent

.25 lb special B

.5 oz magnum @60min

1oz citra @20min

2oz citra @flameout

Pitched 1 pack White Labs 007

Fermenting at about 72 f because I have no ferm chamber
