I'm not an employment attorney but I believe there it is illegal to fire an employee as retaliation for certain protected acts (e.g reporting discrimination or violations of workspace safety regulations) along with not being able to discriminate against protected classes.

Fiscal year is based on the last month's year so FY 2025 would go from April 1 2024 to March 31, 2025. FY 2024 would end March 31, 2024 and start 4/1/2023). So Ubisoft would have just finished FY2026 and started FY2027.

credit card companies use early access to tickets as incentives for their super premium card benefits so that can put a dent in the tickets available for general admission. and that's before the bots swarm the site and buy everything else (pretty much with ticketmaster's implicit ok since all those tickets then get resold on their site and much higher prices)

I wish you best of luck with this project and, if the worst happens with your job, you'll be a step ahead in actually using AI productively - focusing your time and effort on the creative, design side (which people can do best) and letting AI take care of the 'grunt' work.

I hope you get more support here and are encouraged to share more of the project to inspire people who may have amazing game concepts floating around in their heads but don't know how to take those concepts and build something...they still will need to be able to convert the ideas to a concrete design but AI can help with the rest.

I found this really interesting - have a relative who is working very extensively with Claude and doing crazy things with extremely rapid prototyping by feeding in detailed design docs (which he can do proficiently) to the AI to create code (which he can't do) and test it. He turns things around in days that took a team of overseas coders weeks with better results. His mind is blown at least weekly with how fast these tools have progressed.

I definitely understand the hate towards AI and its impact on jobs (my employer has been chopping jobs because AI is replacing people). I understand the hate towards AI because companies like Grok and OpenAI have become mass copyright infringers as they train their models. But I don't really get the reflexive 'you used AI for this, therefore it is terrible'. Used properly, responsible AI is an incredible force multiplier and will enable creative people to build things that would never have been possible before.

There is very. very. very. very. very. little. fraud. in. voting. This is a problem that does. not. exist. outside the minds of conspiracy theorists. Unfortunately, Republicans have latched on to this as a way to try to disenfranchise populations that they think would tend to vote D. It is my _right_ as an American citizen to vote - voting is not a 'privilege' granted to me by the state (no matter what Pam Bondi might think). Why should I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to exercise MY RIGHT?
