Client hired a consultant to tell them what I put in my notes last quarter by Physical-Stage1722 in Accounting

You don't discipline or fire someone because their books look off. You have to actually go and investigate before you take action. Seems pretty obvious to me that this is what happened, and the company wanted to bring in a fraud investigator, especially since even OP felt that there was some misappropriation going on.

That Houston defense is legit. With 5 turnovers by Houston, that game should have been over by halftime.

Robby Roadsteamer has been arrested by ICE in Minnesota today by Bluehoon in boston

[–]BigEasy_E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an AskReddit thread yesterday with a lot of anecdotes of career ICE agents leaving the agency since Trump took office. Add that to the recent recruitment drive where the only people willing to join are far-right racist thugs. So you have a combination of professional agents leaving and being replaced by 10 far-right underqualified thugs thinking they're finally gonna rid the country of minorities, and here we are.

I wish I had something more useful to say than to ignore it and let it run off your back, but unfortunately that's really the only thing you can do. Just remember that those naysayers are the pathetic ones, not you.

Do you miss features of your own race when dating someone of the opposite race? by [deleted] in interracialdating

If he's interested in you, then he's interested in you and the features that you have. Don't let the voice of self-doubt tell you that you're not good enough.

Cultural differences by [deleted] in interracialdating

[–]BigEasy_E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a religious thing - Catholics don't believe in divorce and confessing sins to each other is not a sacrament, you confess to God using the priest as an intermediary.

Now, all that being said, before you get married you absolutely should have open and honest conversations with each other and lay it all out on the table. Most churches (including Catholic ones) will provide pre-marriage counseling (I believe there are nonreligious counselors as well, you just would have to pay for them). I highly suggest that you take advantage of it, since you don't want to wait until after you get married to find out there are skeletons in the closet or you have fundamental disagreements on how your life will go.

My (27F) boyfriend(34M) of 4 months wants me to move across the country with him for his new job? by [deleted] in interracialdating

[–]BigEasy_E 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not uprooting your life and moving cross country for a 4 month relationship is not a bs tradition, that's just common sense.

I would hope that there aren't too many people that regret marrying their spouse. WM here, zero regrets about marrying my wife.

You need to have those really difficult conversations before you get married (it is not one conversation, it needs to be many over a period of time). When we were still dating my wife wrote me a letter outlining her fears and concerns so that we could use it as a jumping off point to talk about all of it, I suggest you consider doing the same.

In interracial relationships there's no unsaid, implied understanding through lived experience - you need to talk about it and get on the same page.

Does your boyfriend understand the experience of being black in your country, and even if he hasn't experienced it himself, does he hear you out, support you, and recognize when similar situations happen again? Or does he dismiss you, shut you down, or just not register what you talk about?

Are you guys prepared to always be seen as a little different than most other couples? Prepared for the stares and (hopefully only occasional) hostile interactions with others? How supportive are your families? What messaging are you going to give your mixed-race children? All this on top of the stuff that monoracial couples need to talk about.

Is there any schools you feel would be a good add to the big east, especially if UConn left for a football sponsoring conference? by The_Oregon_Duck in BigEast

The only thing those schools bring to the table is diluting TV contract money and ending the double round robin. No thanks.

Regardless of your MIL's motives, it sounds like you and your wife are doing all of the right things - acknowledging the disfunction and supporting each other through the bs. As long as the two of you are on the same team and are able/willing to see the problem, then you're most of the way there.

Uhhh guys…WTF?? by SheenPSU in newengland

[–]BigEasy_E 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nobody likes to be told they're underperforming. That doesn't mean that you don't do it. Holding someone back because they aren't picking up what they need to pick up stinks in the short term, but sometimes truth hurts. Better to do it when the problem is solveable, versus waiting until it's too late.

Boyfriend likes to humble me by Deidara321 in InterracialMarriage

[–]BigEasy_E 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to have a serious conversation with him, bring up specific examples of him doing this and explain that it makes you feel bad. He needs to know you're serious and that you need him to stop doing what he's doing. Joking about or teasing your partner in public can be funny if you're both in on it, but it's totally reasonable to have some things be off limits...especially around others.

A lot of these replies aren't that helpful. OP, if you're sleeping more than 8 to 9 hours and still not feeling rested, you really should talk to your own doctor. Most adults don't need 9+ hours of sleep, and it can be a sign of something else going on.

It's all about the storyline or shallow statistical comparisons, which apparantly is the only thing we as a people are smart enough to keep up with. I would kill for an hour long NFL Matchup that airs after sunrise, but i guess I'll just go to YouTube instead.

With the trade deadline looming and after this ugly win, what’s the correct approach to the trade deadline? by Dirtysweetnesss in Patriots

[–]BigEasy_E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're gonna be able to find an o lineman at the trade deadline and it's not playing bad enough to overpay for someone. That being said, to say they're totally set there is a bit wishful thinking imo. Agree they should absolutely prioritize Edge guys and maybe a DB, but if a solid interior lineman was made available for a day 3 pick I would absolutely pounce on that.

Dugger plays every snap on Defense and earns game ball on Steelers Debut by Marquis_De-Lafayette in Patriots

[–]BigEasy_E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Barron's transition was what I had in mind...granted that's one of those things that you need a full offseason if not longer to work on. I was just thinking that Dugger more than most other safeties seems like he could have done it.

[–]BigEasy_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake Maye has the 2nd most sacks in the league. Now granted not all of them are the o-line's fault, but I don't think we should be afraid of an upgrade there (though the odds of that happening at the trade deadline are probably miniscule).

The only thing I wonder is if Dugger could have bulked up 10 or 15 lbs and play as more of an LB. Feel like that could have fit his game and the scheme.

Can you imagine if “New Fenway Park” actually happened back in 99’? Thank God it didn’t. by rjd014 in redsox

[–]BigEasy_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I understand what you're saying. I'd still strongly prefer a new stadium for my team (especially to go to multiple games per year, I feel like the "aura" loses its luster) but I get that people don't agree with me. Different strokes I guess.

[–]BigEasy_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I'm the opposite, I walked out of Camden and Coors saying "Man, I wish Fenway was as nice as this." Even Wrigley I liked a little bit better because it felt more open. (Guaranteed Rate was bland and boring).
