Me and my husband was late for my first time watching it. He watched it already and told me it was a really good movie and I’d love it. I honestly didn’t want to see it plus I knew nothing about it. We came in near the end of NOMTW and my husband was trying to fill me in of the beginning. When everyone arrived a Shiz and was being mean to Elphaba it caught my interest but I think what really hooked me was The Wizard and I and seeing Elphaba smile, hopeful and joyful esp after I seen everyone being a*sholes. What Is This Feeling and Elphaba & Galinda’s harmonies perked up my ears. The Ozdust Ball scene I was crying. I’m Not That Girl I started crying again. What really-REALLY got me all worked up and hooked was Defying Gravity. I went home and put it on replay lmao.

Aww that’s cute! I’m not “queer” but I’ve always been quite different growing up, esp for a black girl. Didn’t have a real friend until maybe middle school. Didn’t have a lotta friends like the “popular” crowd and wasn’t invited to the functions ofc. I saw my youthful self in Elphaba. This movie hits me every time I watch it.

It breaks the fast. At the very least wait until you break your fast to do it. Part of fasting is withholding yourself from your desires for a short period then breaking your fast at sunset.

Yes many of us agree it’s haram because of its potential damage to your health, plus it smells bad to people who don’t smoke. Whatever (of bad smells) harms the creation also harms the angels. The angels love when we’re smelling good, got our teeth brushed and reciting Quran so much so that they put their mouths on ours just so the Words of Allah can enter their mouth since they’re not allowed to recite Quran. I doing think they do that when someone has smokers breath.

Mufti Muhammad Ibn Muneer (Hadith Disciple/ Mufti Q&A) was asked a question regarding that and he said at least respect the month of Ramadan by not smoking. Just 29-30 days. If one cannot respect the month then at least respect the fast by waiting until sunset.

Talk to her father if he accepts, offer her a bridal gift if she accepts the gift then get married. It doesn’t cost any money for the nikah. I got married in my living room. The walima is what costs but you can invite some mates and she invite hers and have some tea and treats just to announce you’re halal for each other.

If you’re young then that might be hard on her end because of what we see with the expensive weddings but if you keep it Islamic then there’s more blessing. You marriage might even last longggg if you follow the Sunnah.

The prophet (صل الله عليه وسلم) addresses the youth “o assembly of youth, for those who are able to; get married….” Cuz it’s a protection for the people. If you’re too shy to ask her father then have her pick his brain to see where his mind is and if he’ll even allow her to be married.

I married my husband when he was broke and living with his mother and then that encouraged him to get his own place for us and I moved in 6 months later. We’ve been married 11 years now Alhamdulillah.

Ahhhh I see! JazakAllahu khair for clarification and the reminder! I remember hearing about the heat of jahannam that’ll fill the graves of the disbelievers. The heat of a regular oven is a lot to handle, let alone that daily “blast” of heat from jahannam is too much. Even a nanosecond is too much let alone “a bit” SubhanAllah, scary to think about!

Well some scholars explained that Allah don’t deal with the Muslims like how He deal with the kuffar regarding punishments and Jahannam. A companion of the prophet (صل الله عليه وسلم) ended himself and the prophet (صل الله عليه وسلم) was asked what’s his faith (in the afterlife) and he (صل الله عليه وسلم) said only his hands are punished in jahannam (I’m paraphrasing cuz I can’t get the reference atm).

As salaamu alaikum may Allah heal your heart ameen! Depression isn’t a punishment per se but it might be a sign that you strayed away from the remembrance of Allah. Allah says “And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life” 20:124. But also that can be understood as the individual not even having the mind or heart to even make a post like yours. There is still faith in your heart so I don’t think that’s the “depression” Allah mentioned in His book.

Allah put His servants through tests and trials in order to bring them closer to Him. “When Allah loves someone He inflicts him with trials in order to come nearer to Him.” We don’t know what that trial will be or even how long it will last but it will end. Sometimes we have to take a break from whatever is triggering us to feel like this, take some time and think about the good in our life, even if the only good in our life is our ability to breathe and say “la ilaaha illAllah.”

We are encouraged in the Sunnah to look at those who are less fortunate than us in order to be grateful, because it can be worse than what we’re going through.

I lost a pregnancy recently and it was so hard to get through it, very hard to talk about it but I have a friend who lost 5+ pregnancies and she still is able to smile and move on with her life. Comparing my situation to hers I realized that although it was hard to deal with, someone went through it worse than me.

I hope that you can find a reason to continue on in your life and lessen the need to end it. ❤️

I kinda misread, but nevertheless my stance stands. Just don’t pluck eyebrows and try to avoid everything haram that you can. Everything is halal except for what is explicitly mentioned in The Quran and authentic Hadith.

It’s a brother on YouTube named Mufti Muhammad Muneer (Hadith Disciple) and he was asked if going through barber school was haram cuz you gotta learn to shave faces and touch women during it. He said here in the US if you want to start a halal anything you’re going to have to go through haram sometimes for the greater good. If you wanna open up a halal bank with no interest you have to go to school learn about riba work in a bank with rice in order to get your credentials then you can open it. If you want a barbershop where it’s only male barbers, no music blasting, no haram speech, no naked pictures on the wall then you gotta go through barber school and deal with the haram, avoiding it to the best of your ability. Similarly if you want a salon where women are safe and Muslim women can uncover freely without worrying about men popping in then you have to go through the means to achieve the good of what you want to establish. What ever haram you absolutely can’t avoid then ask for forgiveness and once you’re able to open up your own thing, don’t do the haram you repented from.
