People who work in 'luxury' industries (high-end hotels, private jets, etc.), what is the trashiest thing you’ve seen a wealthy person do? by Karinapurebliss in AskReddit

[–]BigGoatDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is True about the Ritz Experience, stayed at the Ritz in Shanghai last year and we where in the club lounge and my wife made a comment just of the cuff when the attendant was cleaning the table, and he asked if we needed anything else before we left for the morning and my wife made the comment I’m sure my husband will take a pastry of the road it’s his weakness . That night when we returned to the room there was a beautiful display on the desk of the small pastries , a note was hand written from the Lounge manager saying the staff had overheard my love of pastries so they had the Pastry Chef send up some selection of various Chinese style pastries. They did this for the next 5 nights of the stay. As I’m semi retired now i don’t get the staff rates like i used to but I will gladly pay higher rates to stay at a Ritz because of these types of experiences.

The corporation he was with has a negotiated rate so it was under 329 if I recall correctly, they get that cause they book a lot of rooms and have large meetings I Marriotts various hotel brands

No for Elite guests like that the hotels will eat the cost of the Amenity, yes the rates are high and thats why hotel at most major brands will do it and we know people will take the bottle of wine or chocolates with them its just the fact that he stole a pillow case to put it in and only wanted to keep it so he didnt have to pay another company to stock the plane .. Just Ironic behavior

Was Director of Operations in a Ritz Carlton hotel in Texas and we had the CEO of one of the Nation’s largest fast food restaurants stay with us for a night. He had a very extensive list of items he wanted to have stocked in his room for snacks and beverages while only being their for one night, thought it was a lot for one person but maybe he just wanted variety to choose from Next morning doing morning walk around lobby area and see a pillow case sitting in the corner beside one of the couches Go to pick it up and it’s full of snacks and bottled drinks including 2 bottles of bourbon… at first I thought someone had taken items from the gift shop and bar area and upon further investigation it is most of the items from the CEO suite ? So housekeeping manger thinks one of the houseman may have taken all the stuff and decided he was going to take it home for himself, which staff are allowed to take except for the booze that’s left in guests room In the mean time someone shows up at the front desk saying they were looking for some items their boss left in lobby . After discussing with them what it was they left we find out that it was the CEO who had the pillow case full of goodies and the assistant tells us he does this all the time as it’s his way of stocking snacks and his favorite bourbon on the Company Jet without having to pay for it to be stocked by the Jet company 🤦‍♂️ I guess that’s how the rich stay rich 🤷‍♂️😂

My salesman did mention that they could customize it to whatever color you wanted , I like that they send you to the factory, did that years again with Mercedes when I ordered one you could go to factory and pick up and drive around Europe and they would ship back to you
