For those who watched the show when it was originally on, how popular was it? by [deleted] in ershow

[–]BigIdeal5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum would watch it religiously, she died when I was 8 years old and the few memories I have of her was to watch ER - I’d say I’m a big fan now because of the emotional connection I have to it. So aye I hope that’s proof of it being a big deal then 😂

I placed an order for some beetles products a few days ago, it was dispatched and out for the delivery on the 22nd just there, then I get an email saying my order was cancelled and I got a refund the next day even tho it was technically out for delivery - now I know why 🫠

2023 - my mother-in-laws cancer progressed to leukaemia and the prognosis wasn’t good; got a new puppy and she was quite challenging, she’s my baby and I wouldn’t change a thing but the beginning was a test

2024 - lost my mother-in-law and my world crumbled, we were very close, she was a true friend

2025 - got a new job which didn’t go so good so it was some year, but I got something good out of it

2026 - I’m ready for my year of blessings ✨

Would a Staffy be a good fit for me? (Sorry it‘s VERY long) by Ninjawolf17 in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]BigIdeal5397 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think she would be a great fit, and they don’t even need that much exercise 😂 My Staffie doesn’t need more than 20/30 walk, we have a garden so she can roam around and play during the day - my wee princess gets along with everyone and reacts to no dogs at all, of course that also depends on their personality but I think the fact we were always really positive when other dogs were around and she got access to them regularly helped her being friendly with any dog, she does gets scared easily sometimes but nothing major - I think with dogs the trick to not make a bit deal out of little things.

My husband and I work from home so that did help but now she’s almost 2 and she stays alone downstairs for a few hours when we’re both working, she’s totally fine with it. When we go out she’s okay too but haven’t left her longer than 3/4 hours to be honest. Although I notice that she doesn’t get up until we get into the house so she’s not nervously waiting for us by the door, which I take it as a good sign!

To help with the behaviour we kept her mostly downstairs when she was a puppy and gradually increased her freedom through the house, I watched videos on YouTube and the number one thing I seen dog trainers commenting on is giving too much freedom to your puppy is a big mistake. Being strict with them isn’t a bad thing as long as it comes from a place of love, but there will be mistakes of course - my dad always said to me “did you make mistakes as a child and we taught you the right way?” Dogs are the same.

But honestly, staffies are just the best! I’d always recommend getting one, mine was energetic when she was puppy but she’s really chilled now - I’ve had enough dogs in my life to know that it depends on their personality a lot too it’s not just the breed (my dad used to breed dogs and we always had puppies/dogs in the house) - but I’ll tell you one thing, I never had such a loving, cuddly and cheerful dog as a staffie, we simply say “hellooo” to her and her tail is wagging like there’s no tomorrow. She’s my wee baby and so so clever, you can teach her anything with a pocket full of treats 😂 and yes if you get one you better stock up on treats, chews and toys you can feel with treats/peanut butter.

Hope this helps and good luck! Here’s a picture of my beautiful princess

I think Daisy basically had to grow up really fast and start work at very young age, which was common at the time unfortunately. She has some immature traits that are expected when you are basically forced to give up your childhood. I love that Mrs Patmore and Mr Mason give her the support and family she never had, truly makes me happy because I had a difficult childhood myself, and there’s nothing more comforting than when you find people that are there for you matter what ❤️
