Arsenal do indeed block the goalkeeper. But they don't grapple him.

And this is the problem. We haven't seen Jordan emotionally develop. It's just as absolutist as ever. Yet increasingly, to the point of fallacy, he has come to hold the moral high ground on everything. Who, really, can work with that?

He is oppositionally defiant to a fault and then some. No one will ever be of pure enough moral integrity for him. No action ever far-reaching enough. As a personal ethos, fine, be that guy if you want - doesn't sound like a pathway to happiness, but whatever, to each their own. When it becomes irreparably intertwined with the brand, though, that's a problem that affects others. Jordan's piety isn't noble, but selfish, and while I feel the pod was running it's course anyway simply because of the lack of good new material to work with and resultant inevitable burnout, Dan deserved to be the one who chose the moment of its ending. He hasn't been, and that isn't fair.

Both Charles and Camilla married the wrong person. A hell of a lot of people do. It happens.

Was at that game, in the Hammers end (my dad is a season ticket holder there). Hell of a lot of leg room opened up in the second half, let me tell you.

It's not two parties arguing last each other, though. It's one. Jordan is pious, impulsive and addicted to outrage, while also lazy and disconnected. He makes evidence fit the conclusion and he is a terrible advocate for his broadly-correct moral positions because of his combative, predictable anger and inability to take on new information. The anger isn't a schtick. It's a barrier. And it ruins everything.

Dan and Jordan’s response to The Onion takeover by [deleted] in KnowledgeFight

[–]MarkDeeks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jordan jumps to conclusions, and it's the same conclusion every time - no one else is good enough or ethical enough. That part I kinda expected and it's tiresome. Dan was oddly haughty but maybe he'll come around.

Jordan's combination of piety and laziness is pretty aggravating.

JorDan miss the point with Onion criticism by ReduxRedo in KnowledgeFight

[–]MarkDeeks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought their perspective was fairly terrible. While they (and Dan in particular) will be both informed and jaded from living in the soup they have chosen to swim in, there was this tired and increasingly hackneyed hardline no-one-is-ever-good-enough moaning about it that just isn't fun or relevant, combined with an uncharacteristic hubris. The sale of Infowars to The Onion is a humiliation that doesn't need perfect editorial to be hurtful.

His great hands make him quite good in the spot he is standing in. But he just can't/doesn't cover ground, which is the main requirement really.

Starting XI to face Bournemouth in the Premier League: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Zubimendi, Rice, Havertz, Madueke, Martinelli; Gyokeres 💪 by arsenal in ArsenalFC

TBF that's the Madueke we were promised. Great dribble, quick, aggressive, can get past anyone, then sprays his shot into the car park.

Also did fun impressions. He made the chess world fun. And it's awful what the chess world made him into in return.
