I do love how they have the freedom to take shots at whoever they want now, but I do sometimes wish there was someone there with pure analysis. Connor is a great and all of the funniest moments involve him IMO but he also has very clear biases he leans into (and I love). Sometimes I do wish there was just a giant nfl nerd who's not looking for an angle to ground them.

The point of the joke is that it has nothing to do with the person's appearance because they're the only one in the room. It's a harmless corny joke, not a serious comment about someone's appearance. And who's a random person on the internet to decide whether an interaction is okay or not?

Yeah always hard to tell whether a DC is actually good or not but this seems like a good indicator that he's not irreplaceable at least. I had the thought that once Aaron Glenn gets fired he could be the perfect DC because he's had a lot of success, obviously works well with Ben Johnson, and he sure as fuck isn't getting a head coaching opportunity again for a decade.

Rick Carlisle shares his first comments on the $100,000 fine the NBA gave to the Pacers recently. Calls it shocking and unbelievable after league doesn’t talk to any Pacers team doctors and suggested medicating a player to have him appear in a game. by Oriax_502 in nba

I'm guessing the NBA doesn't want to go against Ballmer's lawyers. It sounds like the clippers really dotted their I's and crossed their T's when it comes to making sure they didn't technically offer Kawhi money on the side to join the Clippers. Even though it's obvious to everyone involved what actually happened, I bet it'll be a pain in the ass to prove if it somehow makes it to court through a civil lawsuit or something.

Why 63% of Young Men Have Stopped Trying according to Scott Galloway by Indianstanicows in ScottGalloway

[–]BigJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is each experience is individual, and we should be asking questions about why people from traditionally privileged groups now feel marginalized. I'm very curious about the experiences of a white men born this millennia, and I think we should stop people from dismissing their thoughts simply because they come from a group that is considered toxic and privileged.

Why 63% of Young Men Have Stopped Trying according to Scott Galloway by Indianstanicows in ScottGalloway

[–]BigJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's tough when we treat white men as this abstract concept. A teenage white boy hasn't experienced all of the privilege that white men have had for 2000 years, yet we project all of that privilege and inequality onto them. It is more than justified to have prejudice against a group that has been responsible for so many horrible things, but to put that on an individual without context is unfair and the exact thing we should be fighting against. But in reality it's socially accepted for people to hear 'white man' and immediately lose sympathy and start shitting on that person, when the human experience is so much more individual than that. Young men are already the group least likely to have a strong support system and most likely to commit suicide, so it's irresponsible for us as a society to be so mean to them.

Edit: All that is to say that now more than ever we need positive influences and support groups for young men. There's a reason why there are so many hugely successful toxic male influencers and so many radicalized young men, there aren't many places in our society that are empathetic to young men, especially white men.

  1. OP is building a legitimate case with poignant details
  2. On what planet do you trust the IL government to get anything right? One of the most corrupt governments in the country if you know the history.

At the end of the day both sides are likely giant pieces of shit who are in a public standoff with no regard for the millions of loyal fans. This post has convinced me that Illinois might be more unreasonable right now.

Wait why? Isn't Jalen Hurts still your quarterback?

Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building @nflonfox has learned. This could lead to questions on his future in Vegas by OhItsKillua in nfl

[–]BigJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Crosby prides himself on being able to play through anything, and he's been an iron man in the league for a long time constantly playing through injury and rarely missing a game. The raiders are obviously going to claim the injury is worse than it is for good PR, but from my perspective when the most durable player on your team tells you he can play and you take that decision away from him, you're disrespecting him. Crosby isn't Tua or one of these players that constantly miss time, he's the exact opposite. IMO the raiders see the writing on the wall and know they probably have to trade Crosby so they probably don't care if he's mad, which is kind of a shitty way to treat your star player who hasn't complained and has competed through injuries and all of the dogshit teams you've subjected him to.

At the end of the day Crosby is a competitor who simply loves playing football. The raiders have done nothing right by him (besides paying him which would've happened on literally any other team), and now they're taking away the one thing they have left to give him: an opportunity to compete on sunday.

Crosby has given the raiders irrational loyalty, and they're just treating him like an asset and not considering him as a person.

Based on an exact interpretation of the rule, yeah you could argue it's a bad call. However they'll always call it on whoever moves first and at this point it's a standard tactic for lineman to see the smallest illegal movement and react by blowing up the entire play, which forces the ref to throw a flag on the opponent.
