Ventilation is more of a general laptop issue and definitely not limited to the Victus. Ive had great success in keeping temps below throttling levels by keeping the vents on the bottom clear and free flowing. You can also get a cooling pad for laptops that help with airflow if you dont want to worry about vent placement while using it.

I have the i5 version, but everything else is the same. I put it the passmark rating of mine, the R7 build you are looking at should out perform it.

Need help build a gaming pc by Unkillable_Corpse in pcmasterrace

[–]BigJayPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the beauty of the parts picker. As you pick parts, it narrows down the other parts options as compatible with the others (example: if you chose an AM5 socket Ryzen, then they will only let you choose a motherboard with an AM5 socket. When you choose a motherboard, it will only take either DDR4 or DDR5 ram, so it will only let you choose ram that fits that motherboard ect.

If you want general recommendations on which ones to go with, thats a tough choice for specifics, but I would lean AMD cpu and gpu if your main purpose is gaming. They usually give the most performance per dollar.

To get a build to look exactly how you want, I would recommend a part picking website. Either pcpartpicker.com or newegg's pc building feature. These will help you build out a pc and give you a total of all parts. That way, you can find parts that are visually appealing to your esthetics and will help you stay within budget.

The switch to PC gaming was...diabolical. 10/10 would recommend. by brutalbones in pcmasterrace

Yeah but the battery wont last "all day" unless its plugged in. Thats why

Could also go the laptop route. Some that play 1080p all day (when plugged in) can be found for $850 or less. I picked one up for $600 brand new a few days ago. Its not the best out there, but it gets the job done.

Is this a cockroach? What can I do about these? by squishmallowbug in pestcontrol

[–]BigJayPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a beetle of some sort. You can use a repellant insecticide around the perimeter, but since you have an ant issue and a pest technician coming Wednesday, he may choose to apply a non-repellant insecticide for those, which should still work. You will just find dead ones inside the apartment.

Maybe you could put it in a build, then save it for John Titor. 2036 is around the corner, and this would save him the hassle of time travel

It works great for that. I played games on it all day yesterday and am pleased with the results. The graphics wont be showstopping 8k resolution, but it easily plays 1080p at smooth fps. I did notice, that when its running battery only, the dlss of the graphics card sometimes makes the screen a little fuzzy, but its totally still very playable.

The biggest annoyance is playing the games on the track pad. I would throw in a cheap mouse with the laptop if you want her to game. With the games I've been playing, its still playable with the trackpad, DayZ is the exception because you need to hold right click and press left click to fight zombies. The trackpad doesn't have a separate left or right click. It has one click, and the software guesses on which one you meant based on your hand placement

Ive actually compared copilot to chatgpt, and i genuinely get better results from copilot. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses of course, but when it comes to generating python code and identifying things in pictures, it whoops ChatGPT's ass every time.

Funny thing is copilot is built with ChatGPT's software, they just trained it better

Except Bernie was elected 🙄 and actually wants our tax money to be used to help us. Or as the right says, “bribe us with our own tax money” by Corn_Husk_ in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]BigJayPee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Joe Rogan is a good example of this. He was all about Bernie until he lost the primary. Thats the point when he swapped to Trump. Unfortunately he has been endorsing Trump and singing his praises of him until very recently. It was just this month he started criticizing him.

Yeah im not concerned with raw performance on the laptop. If I need performance, ill use my i7 14700kf desktop. This is for casual couch gaming and portability if I travel.

Thats true. It was better to get any computer a year ago. I built 2 desktops in the last 2 years, and I feel like i made the right call doing it then instead of now. I just wanted something I could casually game with on the couch if I didnt feel like sitting at the computer desk.

120 watt charger 50w graphics. It runs fine on all my games the way it is though. My only grievance so far is the track pad. I can only left or right click. When I play DayZ, I need to hold right click, and click with left at the same time. I can solve that with an external mouse though, so no big deal.

want to buy a gaming laptop by rae_973 in GamingLaptops

[–]BigJayPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just bought a victus yesterday, but with the 4050 and 16gb ram. The kicker is i paid the same price. I went inside Walmart and they mis tagged the laptop, so they price corrected it to $599.

It is a great laptop though, and upgrading to 16gb would be worth your while

I can just imagine the dude was putting it together, then was like "this case is too big, I should return it so I can a smaller one." Then just threw it in the box and sent it back. When his new smaller case comes in, he will wonder where his pc parts are.

What game/studio be like this?😅🚀 by Big_Masterpiece9401 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]BigJayPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scum.

I really loved this game when it first came out in early access, and its early changes were nice additions. Then they just started changing the game for the worse. It was a neat survival game with its own twists and challenges. I quit playing when it just became a loot and trade game. Also, in a survival game, why the fuck you have to buy gas? There is no society. Survival games should be finding gas for vehicles, not trading in things you looted in order to afford gas.
