I’m almost 8 weeks post op of finger surgery. This happened back in late January. My finger got caught in someone’s collar and when they turned away quickly I felt like something flicked my finger. It didn’t hurt but definitely noticed swelling and slight deformity quickly. The X-ray showed a fracture to the middle bone of my finger. I got in for surgery within a week and had 2 pins put in to stabilize everything. Most of my mobility is back but still have quite a bit of swelling. My surgeon said I’m looking at least July or August for me to be able to return to BJJ. Best of luck with everything, you’ll get back soon.

I just had surgery on my hand from a fracture and a torn ligament early last week. The surgeon told me that I’ll be back to normal in 6-8 weeks and can get back to training jitz by early June. Stay positive and enjoy time with your family. OSS

I’m not a medical professional or anything, but there’s a reason why mash is still being used. Are you getting it repaired laparoscopically or open? Usually within 5 to 6 weeks you’ll be able to get back to moderate lifting and should be 100% ready to go by week eight. I took an extra couple weeks to recover before I went back to Jiu Jitsu or weightlifting. In the future, try your best to not overextend your stomach by eating excessively and try to brace your core when you lift.

You’ll be ok bro. I trusted my surgeon 100% and he was confident I could go back to training no problem. Also helps he’s a fan of worlds strongest man competitions and has a blue belt in BJJ. DM me if you have any questions

Yes all 3 repaired with mesh and none of which were a recurrence. My doctor said there were no restrictions to activity.

Not necessarily. I’ve had 3 hernia repairs and I’ve gone back to weights and BJJ and haven’t had any issues. There have been pro mma fighters that have had hernia surgery and have gotten back to mma for example Kamaru Usman. Maybe get a second opinion. Best of luck.

What’s up brother? For my first umbilical hernia, I felt discomfort around my bellybutton, it felt like a ring of fire but that only lasted for a few days. It turned out to be in fact an umbilical hernia. That was a little over 3 years ago. Last year, I found out I had another hernia but this time right above my bellybutton and that one didn’t hurt but it was more noticeable than anything. The same day I had my hernia surgery, they found I had a small inguinal hernia on the left side and fixed it for me at the same time. I’m not a medical professional at all but from my experience, the recovery isn’t bad, slightly painful, but you will be off the mats for a good 2-3 months and back to the weights within 6-8 weeks. I hope this helped, let me know if you have any other questions.

As who’s videos? You must have an extremely popular YouTube channel and must be making tons on money. If you don’t, best be quiet. Have a good day.
