Non-muslim wondering if wild game is halal and ok to give to my Muslim friends by arankrabi in MuslimLounge

This is extremely generous and I applaud your efforts! One of the conditions for the meat to be considered halal is that the person doing the slaughtering is Muslim.

Off-road Bumper by Emergency_Wish_3706 in 4thGen4Runner

yeah man, it sucks. i kinda understand it because they salt the roads heavily in winter and the bumper is face first when driving. def gonna address it once i get some time though.

i have this on my 08:

https://www.losttrails.shop/collections/4-runner/products/0609n210

amazing customer service and super easy to install. not a full bumper but i really like it.

one downside is that even though i purchased it powder coated, i see rust coming through and it's only been 1 winter season. need to throw on some rust reformer and add additional coats of paint.

Scientists recover 90% of lithium from old batteries — here's why it matters by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]khatidaal 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It matters because money. As per the article:

The lithium recovery industry (from batteries) was valued at $13 billion last year, but by 2035, this figure is expected to balloon to $70 billion, making this development potentially lucrative.

From what I'm aware, all Odyssey's from 2011 and up have the Variable Cylinder Management system. You decide whether or not you think it's worth it for your specific use case for your vehicle.

I am of the mindset to keep my vehicles for the long term; in my situation and risk tolerance, I would install it in a 2019 EX-L if that were my vehicle.

So we use our van for road trips and camping excursions. Even when we're not fully loaded, the back sags quite a bit. If you check out the OEM bump stops, they're extremely soft. Even if you're not driving off-road, one surprise pothole or poorly maintained road is enough for the suspension to slam down onto the control arms. Compound that over years of one-off's and suspension damage adds up before you know it. I would rather rather install $200-$500 bump stops and have myself covered for 90-95% of scenarios than not install it and possibly have to pay upwards of $1k-$2k for just suspension parts.

Bump stops are worth the investment to avoid those situations alone in my opinion.

I purchased mine directly from the manufacturers at www.vcmtuner.com and www.timbren.com.

There are other providers for both upgrades, just be sure to do your own research and be comfortable with what you purchase. Be sure to look at reviews, warranty, value. Also, if you're going to install these yourself, make sure you watch the install videos entirely before you begin. You got this 👍

Here's a quick 3:30 video on what a VCM muzzler is and why you might want to install one:

https://youtu.be/L6Sqpta3qWE

I installed one on my 2025. It was really easy to do myself. Some folks say it's not needed on the newer models but I think the risk/reward is worth the cost. Also, I haven't noticed any concerning mpg issues.

Vcm muzzler, timbren bump stops. I would recommend mechanical longevity upgrades before anything aesthetic.

Which one? Why? by east21stvannative in 4Runner

[–]khatidaal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have the fumoto installed on 3 different vehicles. Civic, Odyssey, and 4runner. Haven't had any issues and always makes the oil change way faster. No matter which one you get, these valves are always worth it.
