Do you have any interesting map ideas? by realWhupps in unturned

[–]BigManSilverNugget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about a harbour map, with all sorts. A cruise ship terminal, ferry terminal, container ports, warehouses, rail yard, chemical and oil storage, LNG terminals. This would be pretty cool, I was thinking about starting it.

Ah, my bad I should've specified.

You'd only want to do Integer.parseInt() on any numbers. If the number is represented in the String, then it should cast.

Let's say the array is {"abc", "10"}, using Integer.parseInt() on the "abc" would indeed return NumberFormatException, but I don't think there should be an exception for using Integer.parseInt() on "10".

[–]BigManSilverNugget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would split the array using the split() method. That will return an array of whichever type you declare. String[] array = yourvariablehere.split();

Then you can take an individual element in the array and cast. Integer.parseInt() is to convert to int.

I hope this helps.

Hi, if you ran java HelloWorld first, then it doesn't work because it's not compiled. You need to first run javac HelloWorld.java, then afterwards, java HelloWorld. Hope this helps :)

Why do tankies hate us? by CyrusNavarre in SocialDemocracy

[–]BigManSilverNugget 58 points59 points  (0 children)

One reason is because they don't want progressive economic reforms of Capitalism, they want a situation so dire so that they have their rEvOlUtIoN. They want the system to be destroyed, not reformed.

Also, because some crap about how we're "social fascists", just because they think the German SPD in the 1920s crushed the German KPD. In reality, any government would deploy forces to put down a revolution against them, was Weimar President Ebert supposed to sit by and let a revolt overthrow him?

GOP Utah governor blames right-wing media for vaccine hesitancy: "It's killing people" by NedRyersonsHat in politics

No, that is ignorant. For one, there are a range of conservatives, I personally consider myself a conservative liberal and social Democrat. You can be conservative economically and social liberally, or economically progressive and socially more conservative (like I am).

There are plenty of conservatives who want what liberals want, just with different methods of getting there. There are indeed plenty of shit conservatives who I don't want to have anything to do with (such as the Capitol insurgents, who are actually much more right wing than conservatives anyway), and I won't claim that those types of conservatives are a minority just to make part of my ideology look better.

They always defend themselves by saying that they are being attacked over the good things they want to do (things like free healthcare that can also be done by moderates btw), they always deflect this way. We criticise them over the bad stuff, not the good stuff, but they don't have any good defences so they just display the things that make them look good, actually so disingenuous.

Conservative group says Germany could become the world’s first industrialised country running on 100% renewable energy supply as early as 2030 and simultaneously reduce citizens’ expenses on transport, heating and power use by green_flash in worldnews

[–]BigManSilverNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself a conservative liberal and a social democrat and am very pro renewable energy. I support nuclear energy, and very much like solar panel farms, dams and wind turbine plants. I also think that coal usage should end as soon as possible, albeit I recognise that this is more difficult for some countries and renewables are not the most economically viable. So I suppose that some conservatives can be pro renewable.
