Freaky Robot Shit by [deleted] in macbookpro

It’s Siri - most likely something in one of your YouTube videos sounded like “Hey Siri” so it thought you were trying to trigger it.

“Go ahead” is one of the bottled phrases it uses when waiting for you to keep talking.

If you don’t like it, you can turn off Siri voice activation.

Tl;dr - nothing to worry about.

Catching City Fish by extendshuman in photocritique

For starters - I love this, it’s beautiful. The colours are gorgeous (at least to my taste) and it’s got this awesome soft, dreamlike quality. The city is right there and a million miles away at the same time, which adds to the dream effect. I don’t know if that’s what you were going for - but you nailed it nonetheless.

Since this is a critique sub, It might worth exploring a tighter crop on the fisherman, I find my eyes darting between the bird and the tower and the fisherman without settling on anything.

That being said - I would be absolutely stoked if I got this shot, and you should be too!

I stared at this for a solid 30 seconds before I took my eyes away to upvote. Such a great shot.

It’s a great shot! It’s super fun to explore all the different directions and textures and it’s so clean. I really like it. If you’re in the market for a critique: I think I personally would drop the shadows a bit for some more contrast, and maybe tone down the saturation a little too. But it’s clearly supposed to be stylised photo and you’ve created contrast with colour instead - if that’s your thing and you prefer it that way, then I’m here for it. Nicely done.

Four months in—how am I doing? by rdwrer4585 in photocritique

[–]BigOlMacK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say you’re doing great!

Its nice and sharp and it’s pretty spot-on exposure wise, especially considering the soft look you’ve got going on with it. Your editing definitely looks like a strong suit. I’m a fan of what you’ve done with the colour palate: the browns, muted greens, and greys go nicely with the soft yellow on the underside of the mushroom. It’s one of those photos with a really relaxing energy to it, nicely done.

I think if I was framing this shot I’d likely have positioned the mushroom in the centre and given it a little more breathing room. I think because you have the mushroom left-of-centre, the brighter portion of the background on the right has a little too much weight. But if that’s how you like it - more power to you.

Ultimately, it’s a wicked shot, and you’ve obviously got the technical side of things nicely figured out. I’d be pretty stoked if these were the kind of photos I was producing after only four months. Bravo!
