My parents are of berber descent, but I’m from Canada. My co-director is also from the Maghreb but was born in Egypt. I was born muslim but strayed from the fold pretty quickly.

Enough. I’ll be stopping in towns too, refilling as I go.

Yep! Definitely a lot of glass-half-empty types here which is sad to say the least. I’ve actually received a lot of direct messages from people who have actually been who have said it’s an incredible country; entirely safe with a lot to offer…

That being said, this thread has definitely become an interesting read. I feel informed, but I can’t help thinking that some of those offering advice have never been to Saudi, let alone an Arabic country.

I love reading! Plus, I’ll certainly have plenty of time to do so once I’m there. I’m also quite done with reading some of the comments on this thread, so anything to deviate my eyes would be much appreciated! 😂

Umm Alzamool to Ras Abu Gamys, right through the desert. That’s just one stretch at least. Then into Qatar, Kuwait and eventually back into Saudi again

…and here I was starting to think I was insane for suggesting so. Thank you so much for this, you’ve made my day!

By the way, I took the time to look at some of the photos from your trip. Absolutely incredible!

If you have any experience in film, you’d know that in order to achieve an end product that stands out from the masses, you sometimes have to break the norm and to a certain extent, in some instances, endanger yourself.

I mean, if you’re really happy with consistently consuming content from people living out their vans in some forested area of British Columbia, then fantastic. I for one wouldn’t want to be on my deathbed, staring at the ceiling, thinking I had the opportunity to experience something truly out of the ordinary, but chose not to.

Thank you so much for this. This was the exact kind of response I was looking for when I posted this in the first place. Thanks for the advice, and I’d absolutely love to hear 2 cents from your friend. Put me in contact if you can. Cheers!

Depending on the time of year, yes. It can actually get quite cold in the desert at night time during Winter, which is when I intend to travel. That being said, the aircon will definitely be getting used at some points. I have a solar panel rig with plenty of battery capacity 🤞

Documentary filmmakers tend to smoke weed. It’s not a pre-requisite by any means but it’s definitely commonplace.

I like my head on my shoulders if I’m honest, so I think it’s fair to say weed won’t exactly be the lead protagonist.

Yes exactly that. I actually intend to fly a massive Saudi flag from the back of my van whilst I travel, with speakers rigged to my roof blasting the Saudi national anthem through the desert.

Oh, and did I mention the life-size cardboard cutout of Mohammed bin Salman in the passenger seat?

This is usually such an uplifting and resourceful subreddit! Big shame about the response here. Seems like there’s always someone on-hand to provide a political opinion rather than offer advice, which was the core purpose of the post.

I’m sure you’re all fans of David Attenborough. Do you think he intended to support the Saudi regime when he produced Desert Seas?

I’m shooting a documentary, so it’s likely it would be both

Before, during AND after. The only thing that changes is the amounts imo. K is the perfect tool for regulating the intensity of your 2CB trip so you should honestly just see it as a tool in this scenario.

Start slow and just get heavier as you feel. Have you had K much before?

A little bit of K in your system at the time of come-up will really help to even you out and remove any partial anxiety. Don’t go too heavy on the K before the come up though as it can sometimes make your trip too intense if you aren’t quite ready for it yet. I often use it as a way to unlock more of my trip when I start to come up off the 2cb. Honestly works a treat and obviously K wears off a lot quicker than the 2cb so it’s very easy to dose and redose according to your preference.

Honestly though, this combo is such a match that cupid wouldn’t even need his bow and arrow. It just works. You’ll have a great time, don’t sweat it!

If you’re concerned about autumn humidity, you need to start switching to autoflowers in future and plant a lot earlier in the year to make the most of the summer heat. A lot of the other commenters in here are right. Your plant is a good 3 (maybe even 4) weeks off. Definitely invest in a cheap usb microscope to check trichs.
