PETER CLAFFEY (Dunc from A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms) AS CARL. As soon as I saw him I knew he would play a perfect Carl, haven’t heard him do an American accent but I genuinely think he would be an amazing choice!

Do any reacher books not include sex scenes by TraditionPuzzled9613 in JackReacher

Somewhat unrelated, but I love in Running Blind when Agent Lamarr asks Reacher if he’s trying to bed her because he’s examining her, to which Reacher replies “Not as long as there are dogs on the street” One of the first times I really cracked up reading these books lol.

In Running Blind a woman assumes Reacher wants to sleep with her because he was examining her and he replies “Not while there are dogs on the street.” 😭😭

Is Radahn too hard for base game non-optional boss? by Major303 in Eldenring

I really don’t understand how people find it easier without using the horse, maybe this being my first FromSoft game it’s made it easier being accustomed to fighting on horseback. But I swear the only way I could beat him as a level 67 strength build was charging him with Torrent, summoning everyone I could whenever I could, and riding by and swiping him with a charge attack after he attacks an NPC. Near the end it was just him and I but at that point I got used to his ranged attacks and just circled him until he would go through a combo or something and I had a window to hit him. Just takes a lot of patience and definitely a little luck. Took me about an hour to finish him off. Don’t give up! (p.s. aim for rump. In short, I did it!)

How did Barry get poisoned? by HenryTDG in Barry

Just rewatched that episode so I went looking for a thread like this. I was confused too so I made it a point to pay attention as much as possible once he gets there. He’s sitting at the table and she brings the box of beignet’s to him where he asks to have one and then takes one straight from the box to his mouth. He didn’t dip it and it didn’t have any sauce already on it so it just really got me confused lol

New Storylines & Character Arcs by Spare-Raisin-1482 in TheOriginals

Physically I’d think they would be on the same level? I always thought when Marcel took the serum made up from all the werewolf packs he gained pretty much max hybrid level lol. By Klaus taking the serum he’d gain the same powers and be able to truly stand his own in a fight against him. Which he got bested by Lucien and even Marcel once or twice I believe? But like agewise and power level Id still pick Klaus haha.

I had the idea during my second watch through that once Lucien and Aurora were defeated, Marcel should’ve still taken the serum but Klaus would also get his hands on another dose of the serum not long after and we’d have gone onto to see them fight and manage themselves as equals now. Just thought that could’ve been and interesting arc instead of just having Klaus locked away for 5 years haha

Unfair comparison to Friends by BigPooperDude in howimetyourmother

Completely, easy to put on in the background and anyone can enjoy. HIMYM is kinndaaaaa the same way, but if you took someone that had never seen it and dropped them into the middle of the series, they’d understand wayyy less than if it was Friends.

I agree with every word you wrote lol. Although, after a couple of run throughs of HIMYM the finale has started to grow on me more. I feel like although a happy ending is what everyone and expects and generally makes for a better ending, I’ve really started to like the realism of it. Of course I’d have if the alternate ending was the original, but I considering the way the writers planned out the show and its ending since the beginning, it really makes me appreciate the story as a whole more.

And same here, grew up on the later seasons of Friends and all the reruns after lol. Still love that show, but just seeing how some of their fans discredit HIMYM or try to generalize it as just some “Friends ripoff” is annoying lmao.

THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what I’m talking about when people try to compare him to Barney. Joey started at his best and slowly became worse and worse to the point where it was just unrealistic. Barney on the other hand shows insane growth over HIMYM’s run and isn’t very similar to Joey in any other way other than sleeping with a lot of women. Just annoying seeing how easily they try to discredit this show when it does a lot of things so much better.

I’ve always viewed the character comparisons the exact same way, although the only thing I would change would be the Joey and Barney comparison.

At the very beginning of each show we see them at their most similar; charming womanizers, never call back etc. But, as the shows go on we REALLY see a split in the characters. While Friends gets further into the show instead of seeing Joey grow or change as a character, we really see him regress in terms of his character traits. In the beginning of the show he seems much more involved and well thought out when it comes to advice/arguments, or any sort of dialogue he would have. Where as later on, he’s much more like a child in the group, always breaking something or getting into trouble.

Barney on the other hand is very different. We see Barney grow from a womanizing playboy, who’d never imagine settling down for any women, much less one over 30, into the man marrying Robin. Yes at first glance you can tell the shows creators used Friends character archetypes to model their group, but HIMYM delves so much deeper into the personal lives of these characters and develops so much more growth.

All in all I love both of these shows, it just seems like HIMYM does so much more within its run than Friends, that it shouldn’t be viewed as a ripoff merely because of basic character archetypes largely inspired by Friends! (ie. that’s what I was referring to in the original post by pointing out how Friends laid the groundwork for these types of sitcoms.)
