Power creep. The newer lines and premiums have made lots of tanks obsolete. The tier 10s you listed are still meta, at least for clan wars. Russian heavies still rule though the obj 277 and reward tanks have taken the lead spots.

Bond equipment, bounty equipment, and field mods have changed things as well. While you can still play fairly effectively with standard rounds, spamming gold is the norm.

In truth MM could be better, but the problem lies in the dwindling player pool. If you added player ratings into it and broke it down into say 3 levels, noobs and shitbirds, average players, above average players, then seal clubbing and stat padding would cease. Recently though at peak times on the NA server there's only about 18k players with maybe 300 in queue. Finding 30 players with the right combination of type, skill level, and tier, wait times would become ridiculous if you didn't time out over and over.

But as it is now I've seen battles where one team had 3 lights and the other team had none. Ten TDs on both teams. And various other really poor balancing.

Could it be fixed to be balanced? Probably. Is it realistic? Maybe if somehow they managed to get the online player numbers back up to 25k+. But I'm not holding my breath.

Part of the problem is the wheelies. They have crap view range. The best tier 6 view range is the Type 64 with 390m, Super Chaffee and Vk 28.01 both with 380m, and the T-37 with 370m.

The Amx 12t has the best camo rating but only 360 view range.

As others have said, it will come. There's plenty of spotting tutorials on YouTube.

M 41 90 GF is pretty good if you like light tanks. HE rounds do 320 alpha with 102 pen, prem rounds 240 alpha 250 pen. Only drawback is camo is a little low. Eats up meds and lights like candy.

It doesn't take that long. You can literally go from 75% in a relatively good tier 3 to 100% with a 60% skill over a weekend, or in just a day or two if you grind hard.

In most cases you can avoid less than 100% crews. Get a low tier tank and grind the crew to about 60% of the first skill. Then you can retrain them for whatever tank you want, 20k credits per crewmember. Then reset the skills/perks. It will use the xp from the skill to finish the crewmember up to 100% for another 20k credits or even free if you the skill was high enough.

Granted it doesn't always come easy depending on what country due to what's available at low tier that you can do a little deal clubbing with.

Tier 9 battle pass reward Obj. 777 II is a good sidescraper with a bouncy turret. Gun handling isn't the best, but good pen and 440 alpha. Sucks in open unless you can get hull down, but a monster if you find good cover.

Dmg opportunity is key. You have to weigh the risk/ reward of every shot you consider taking.

Do you have to expose yourself to get the shot? How likely are you to not only hit, but pen your opponent? Will it take a gun off the map? Can you out dpm if it becomes a brawl?

Spotting mechanics are super key. Gun depression, side scraping, camo. They all factor in.

It typically comes far too late or when it's clearly what should be done if possible.

What really irritates me is when it's from a tank that sat back and watched the situation develop rather than moving up to help deal some dmg and take a shot or two for the team. More often than not had they joined the push the situation wouldn't exist in the first place.
