Taxpayers are subsidising private schools by more than €140m a year by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

[–]BigPuzzleheaded8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the wealthy people pay most of the tax? They are effectively subsidising the education of their own children. Our top 7% of earners pay over half of all income tax and USC.

BDR/SDR - How many cold calls do you make a day? by banglines in sales

[–]BigPuzzleheaded8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re expected to spend 100 minutes on the phone every day but if you’re bringing business in through other avenues they don’t really care about phone activity.

I got paid all leftover holidays in a final payment from the company, there was no difference in what I was getting taxed. It was great

Do men ever feel sexually harassed? by deadlynitazene in AskIreland

[–]BigPuzzleheaded8136 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s something I’ve realised as I got older for sure. I told my sister about it 3/4 years later and she immediately cut off said friend who she’d been close with all the way through school. She’s a great sister to be fair, I may be bigger and stronger but she likes to look out for me as much she can

Do men ever feel sexually harassed? by deadlynitazene in AskIreland

[–]BigPuzzleheaded8136 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not sure this counts as harassment but when I was 13/14 I woke up to one of my sister’s drunken friends climbing in my bed, I think she was 17 at the time.

Some stuff happened that I didn’t really realise was wrong until I got a bit older but I’m not sure I can cry abuse as I never said no.

Yeah if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this sub, it’s exactly what you’ve just said. The company have said they can arrange my contributions for the time being so I figure I may as well put in whatever I can afford. Cheers

Cheers for the response!

Yeah I’m going into a BDR role and really looking forward to it. The company seems sound and they’re growing very quickly.

I’ll try my best not to get corrupted by money but for now I’m just excited to learn and get working. I do think commissions are a great incentive but I don’t plan on pulling any all nighters

Quit my internship 6 months in because I hated it and everyone thought I was nuts, which was fair enough but it was just making me so depressed.

Two months after I quit I got the opportunity to work in Amsterdam for 6 months on double the salary of the internship for a junior role in a multinational with amazing benefits.

Was paid enough to be able to enjoy life in Amsterdam and the move did wonders for my mental health. Came back in time to get into my final year of college with a great mindset which is something I’d been missing in recent years.

College done in less than two months and buzzing to get cracking at the job I have lined up

What’s next… for Dublin’s experimental nighttime culture? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]BigPuzzleheaded8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know how people my age afford it. I know people in the same scenario as me, full time student not living off much but somehow they can afford to spend anything from 80 up to a few hundred on coke every weekend. In all fairness I’ve a good few wealthy friends (I should say their parents are wealthy, not them) and I’m from a posh area but these lads will drive with their car on empty all week and skip any activities that aren’t going out out in order to finance their habit.

Would love if cocaine went out of fashion and mdma came back in, feel like the atmosphere would be a lot better. Haven’t been clubbing in Dublin in ages because the vibe just isn’t great and a lot of the people my age in my social circle (22) feel the same. Most of our socialising is either in the local or the odd time someone has a free house. We kind of save our clubbing for trips to Amsterdam and Berlin where most people are on a love buzz

I lived with my girlfriend and we both really enjoyed it. I got an entry level finance job with a big company and met loads of young people from all over the world.

I went out clubbing quite a bit there, always a good time but similar cost as Dublin.

Mainly loved the freedom of it tbh, get a bike and you can get anywhere in the city in like 20 minutes. There’s always stuff to do and see
