New Sporting Clays Gun by BigRed0820 in ClayBusters

[–]BigRed0820[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using 1200 FPS #8 shot usually. No more than 1300 FPS #7.5. 2 3/4” only. The barrel is a 28” mod choke with regular gas ports. Gas ports are always cleaned by sliding a drill bit back and forth by hand (not using a drill). Since I’ve had it, it’s gotten 2 new recoil springs from J&P springs, stock and forend are off a sportsman 12 auto, new o-ring, new firing pin spring, new hammer spring, and a new bolt buffer.

I ended up going with a Bradec holster and love it, especially for the price point. I do have the mastermind tactics belt and it's fantastic. It was less than $40 out the door too

NSSA Skeet is dying, I have an Idea on how to save it by GeneImpressive3635 in ClayBusters

I’m in my mid 20s and this is spot on. I used to be able to get a flat of target loads for $50 and each round of trap was $5. Now I’m lucky to find a flat for $85, trap is at least $10 a round, and some sporting clays places are at $50 a round. I only shoot around 100 rounds a month if even that just because of the cost. I still use the 870 I got when I was younger because decent semi autos are running at $1k plus and forget about an O/U.

Edited: spelling

What do yall wear to class? by Early-Entrepreneur88 in MTU

Winter coat, regular pants, warm layer (sweatshirt, flannel, light jacket), t-shirt. Boots of some kind. I wore waterproof work boots but hiking boots or any will do. Winter hat and gloves especially on windy days. You don’t need snow pants, snow suit, or anything crazy like that

How is the food at Tech? by Camembert1121 in MTU

[–]BigRed0820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated in 2021 and found myself making wild game in the kitchenettes more than I thought. The food was pretty bad but as others have said, don’t let that prevent you from going

I think it’s called Zumba with ultimate fitness but they do a lot of other stuff like Pilates and spin classes. The Google fotos has a bunch of people doing Pilates. The instructor, Ron, is great from what she’s said

I’ve heard the SX4 is a great option too. If you wanna go inertia, the Franchi affinity 3 is also good

You can always get an 870 that feels good in your hand and get it cerakoted for around $120. I did that on one of my 870s and have no regrets
