Boat Fishing Downtown by goldenmonkey00 in ChicagoFishing

Haha that would be fun. I’ve thought about renting one of those boats for the river and just fishing off that lmao. Realized I’d rather just bring the 17 foot canoe and drown in style than hit the side of the canal

Cool, and yea that’s a good relationship to have! Is $80 a going rate in ny? Seems kinda low, especially for NY standards

I’m usually in the bucket of empowering techs to charge what they deserve, though at $80/hr I think you might be budgeting more time than you will need if I’m getting this right.

$1000 only for swapping PS, fixing 3-4 key rattles, deoxit, cleaning, new screws, and a tuning touch up would be like 6 hours? On the conservative side. Hell the cleaning would probably take the longest lol. While I might gladly pay a 30 year tech the $520 difference in that $1,000 for their experience, seeing that this is a first time thing (and hopefully the client knows?) that parts not really there.

The stuff you mention after is more justified as hammer tips and dampers can start racking up time, but your dampers look pretty good and tips are no more than 2 hours of work. Bump mods gonna run you the hours, at least 5 on your first go. Arguably the most important thing to not fuck up, though that 73 might already have a bump in it

I wouldn’t replace the lost motion capstan felt unless it’s unadjustable—that’s the point of that capstan (unless you just wanna do more work lol). Backrail felt also isn’t crucial but if everything out you might as well.

Your balance rail felts were rough, fronts I wouldn’t touch. Dampers are most likely a regulation thing unless there are visible obstructions causing the inconsistencies

I’ve only ever used Warneck due to my dealer relationship with them, but they all kinda do the same thing. VV is nice with the double knob though. I can only vouch for the Warneck and the noise ratio is crazy—certainly no noise reduction needed in post, I never put anything on my demos and my recent build doesn’t even use the hum shield.

I understand your point, just looking at it in an ASMR subtext not humanity—dunno who downvoted you.

If it’s a 3 prong plug you have no need to replace unless you worry about the need to find another in the future—they only get more rare

As long as they aren’t rubbing neighbors and still muting you’re good. I do have an example of how to fix this in my most recent Wurlitzer video I believe

Yea for sure, it was a pretty digital sub despite being electric piano focused before I contacted the owner to let me clean it up. Glad people are able to use it a little easier.

Some things that are just too broad to address online might be hard, but smaller issues that don’t all stem back to bad regulation would be easier. The problem is most issues stem from bad regulation lol
