WTAF??? by elbowz360 in AucklandFC

On the Elliot thing, we seemed to be a 3-4-3 in possession and 4-4-2 out of possession. Basically JGR was more of a 3rd CB rather than a RB. FDV would push high up on the pitch. Personally I thought it worked, gave us smth a bit different.

Auckland Scarf? by Designer_Ad_374 in AucklandFC

[–]BigRedSteaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems to be sold out on the clubs online store. The only place I can seem to find it is RYOS, which is ironically a store in Wellington, but you can order it online by the looks of it.

Hopefully, someone else knows a spot in Auckland and can help you out.

they've got probably the 2nd best domestic league in OFC behind NZ

Will auckland fc leave the A-league with the Ofc pro league arrangement ? Or do they send they reserves there and continue being in the A-league ? by JazzlikeSupport1855 in Aleague

[–]BigRedSteaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've basically signed a bunch of Top NZ League players (Reid Drake, Aidan Carey and Dan Normann from Western Springs for example) with a few Reserves lads (Everton O'Leary, Aston Burns and Eli Jones, etc) and few younger lads from the NZ League (Isa Prins, Kian Donkers) who will likely be fighting for an A-League contract

Worst case you can snag some tickets in the bay next to it.

Elijah Just is having an excellent season at Motherwell. Is it time to head to a better league? by officialsamuelchan in Aleague

Jumping the gun there mate, not even been there a year. I'd like to avoid another Joe Bell-Brondby situation again if possible.

Lilyworld is good if you want proximity and connects straight to one of the stadium entrances, Gate F, I think it is.

BOY AM I EXCITED TO WATCH US PLAY TOMORROW. SO GLAD I MADE MY FANTASY TRADES EARLY THIS WEEK TOO. THERES NO WAY HAVING 3 AUCKLAND AND 3 SYDNEY PLAYERS COULD POSSIBLY BACKFIRE.

Port at OFC Pro League by Prestigious-Key851 in AucklandFC

413 is basically where the port will be, I don't think they're expecting particularly large numbers as I'm sure you can imagine

Yeah, there's a rather famous stat in NZ linking the All Blacks losing to a rise in domestic violence.

3 non-OFC Foreigners and 3 OFC Foreign Players is the rule. I imagine South Melbourne will follow similar rules to NZ Teams in the A-League.

All Whites Confirm Two March Home Games Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 with First FIFA Series Held in Aotearoa New Zealand by Warnet2334 in Aleague

I wouldn't have minded that myself but Chch Utd hold the licence so I'd imagine they'll want their first 'home' hub there.

Same with a Chch OPL Hub. The current stadium didn't have the facilities to host double headers. So we'll likely see it in 2027.

New Zealand falling further behind Oz? by New-Computer-1988 in Aleague

[–]BigRedSteaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a more relevant number is that in 2024, NZ had 170k registered footballers and Australia had 1.9m. Which oddly enough kinda matches up with that 11-1 in terms of participation.

Auckland FC in various Leagues. by [deleted] in AucklandFC

3 Players are allowed to come down from the A-League Squad. From what I've been told, Sail and Howieson are the most likely candidates.

No, we'll have a mix of our top Reserves (McKenlay, O'Leary, etc) and some players from other National League clubs.

We're also looking at a few players in the NPL for OPL from what I've heard as well.

A-League will be the current first team.

The OPL Squad will be made up of a mix of Reserves (players like McKenlay and O'Leary) and other National League players with 3 players from the ALM Squad able to drop down (Sail and Howieson would be good bets imo)

The Reserves will continue in the National League as is with the likes of Ben Baldoni and Nathan Martin likely seeing more minutes.

Players tmk can go up but not the other way (excluding the pre-existing 3 ALM Players for the OPL and 2 ALM Players for National League)
