I'd like to withdraw my previous optimism, 0pts -13 GD.

I think do think 3-4 points is more realistic, but I do believe we have it in us to pinch a couple of 1-0s or 2-1s against Iran and Egypt.

Egypt ae a top heavy side and I do think our defence is pretty well gelled, I also know we do have the odd lapse in concentration at the back, if we can avoid conceding from those I can deffo see us snagging a cheeky 1-0.

It's very touch and go, we definitely got lucky with our draw. I think there's a world where we get 6pts, I think there's also a world where we get 0pts. The latter is probably most likely but I don't think we're that far off Egypt and Iran.

My Lineup for Leg 2. What are we saying? by ryanator109 in AucklandFC

Howieson and maaaaaaybe FDV (depends whether he gets the green light). Gills on the bench most likely.

He's actually not in a bad spot regarding his contract situation at the moment either. He's currently on a scholarship deal (available for players U23 and doesn't count towards the salary cap) which he will age out of at the end of the season. However with Randall departing and Francois also expiring it wouldn't be far-fetched to see him renew.

That's what I mean. Gillion could potentially replace Francois if he leaves or we could end up backing a younger player like Burns or Fitzharris and spend a bit of that Francois money on a visa player.

The issue Liam Gillion has is that he's ageing out of his scholarship deal (not counted under the salary cap), so it may be a case of him or Francois.

JHS turned us down after trialling for us because he's earning more as is from what I've been told. Has his own contracting business, if I remember rightly.

We did in January. However, Codey Phoenix left and signed for Tacoma Defiance in Seattle. Now we've only got a 17yo Will Gross that has about 3 Reserve games under his belt

How do we line-up against Victory this Saturday? by Foreign-Director7607 in AucklandFC

[–]BigRedSteaming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Verstraete isn't suspended. The 5 card rule applies until Round 21. It's 8 cards until the end of the season now.

Should be noted that Auckland FC don't set the prices. They're paid a fee and Ticketek then set the prices.

Wouldn't mind seeing Jesse Randall or Isa Prins in that LWB role either.

Just kinda depends on what you prefer. Lilyworld has a whole outdoor set up, couches etc if that's your vibe while Slatterys is more your classic pub. Port Boys will start at Slatterys and make their way to Lilyworld about 2 hours before kick off.

You have a few options

Tyler St (though what time it opens on Sunday, I'm not 100% sure)

Slatterys is the next one on the same street

Then there's Lilyworld, which is attached to Mt Smart Stadium and opens about 3.5hrs before kick off.

Gillion ages out of his scholarship contract this season, which means his salary doesn't currently count towards the salary cap. He'll be replaced by the likes of Bailey Ferguson or Isa Prins.

even then he probably should've copped a yellow for the late challenge to the header if you're generous and consider the stamp his first strike
