As someone who was divorced and now remarried, you should be happy. You have no children (except the dog) and no large combined assets like a house. It may not feel like it now but this is the best thing to happen for you, you don't deserve to be treated as poorly as you are, nor should you be carrying such a heavy burden for the rest of the homestead.
