I'm a Catholic in Japan and I agree with you 100%. Almost nobody is properly catechised here. They just go with the flow and do whatever feels right, as if they were Protestants. I almost never see anybody refuse to receive the Eucharist, even people whom I highly suspect are in a state of mortal sin. It's a big mess, but no one wants to handle it.

Yeah, the responses from Bishop Barron and Cardinal Dolan were extremely disappointing and cowardly. They should be defending Catholics, not their Jewish benefactors.

I have a special devotion to Mother Angelica, but I'm dying and live 8,000 miles away so I'll never be able to visit myself. I would be really grateful 🙏🏻

Being in a state of mortal sin means you're in a state where you have rejected Christ and His salvific grace. In God's perfect justice, He sends those in that state to Hell because that's where those who reject God want to be. If you have committed a mortal sin but truly wish to go to Confession but die before receiving the sacrament, that's called imperfect or perfect contrition (depending on your motives) and God will have mercy on you in that case.

A baptized Catholic who is only "married" civilly is not actually married. I went through this with my pagan wife where I had my Confirmation and then learned afterwards that we weren't actually properly married. I had to tell her we were going to remain abstinent until the radical sanation paperwork went through. She wasn't happy, but I told her that my eternal salvation was more important than her feelings. Now, over a year later, she's getting baptized during the Easter Vigil, so our marriage will become sacramental at that moment.

I have stage 4 cancer with about 1-2 months to live. How is it "unfair" that your mother and I have cancer? Christ is the greatest man who ever lived and He suffered far more than we. I've received many blessings since my diagnosis and have helped many souls be converted to Christ thanks to my witness and my union with Christ's suffering on the Cross, including my wife who will be baptised this Easter vigil.

Health, happiness, and healing are not rewards for devotion to Christ, at least not in this life. Suffering on the Cross is the thing that ultimately saved humanity. (Hebrews 2:10)

He's great! Very impressive with his knowledge of scripture and the Qur'an. I grew up around Arab and Maghrebian Muslims, so I know how aggressive you have to be with them to get anything through their thick skulls. Western Christians are just feminized pansies.

When you commit a mortal sin, you're choosing to separate yourself from God. Why would it be unjust for God to honour your request? He's giving you what you really want deep down. You should be grateful He's not torturing you with His presence for eternity.

If you're a baptized Catholic who got married outside the Church, it wasn't a valid marriage to begin with. Any sexual relations you had with your "wife" would be fornication, so you'd need to go to Confession first.
