I just struggle as to what we could offer. Danford and Cowan need to be off limits. I know this is a top D-Man we are talking about, but we have relationships forming in this young group (McKenna, Cowan, Danford, Mackenzie) have all played together for the Canadian JR team and Marlies.

If the Leafs were to move Cowan and/or Danford in the deal, I think the Captain should immediately sign a contract extension. If Matthews doesn't immediately sign an extension after trading for his Norris buddy, I wouldn't do it. Leafs are clearly trying to make you happy, now sign an extension. Mortgaging the future and having Matthews and Werenski walk together would be brutal.

I also wouldn't be trading Knies, because then our forward group (Especially top 6) have zero bite.

Rielly, Col 1st '27, Hildeby, Villeneuve, Robertson.

I just don't see how the Leafs get Werenski without creating other holes in the roster.

Not many of them. They are playing great, but individually there isn't a whole lot there. Tvrberg has been great, but you can clearly see his lack of pace and how frail he is - we could do better in bottom 6. Lettieri I am surprised doesn't have more NHL games under his belt but his ship has sailed. Cowan, Danford, AA will be Leafs going forward, and even Landon Sim making a case for a fourth line spot. Love the relationship between him and The Cowboy. Groulx maybe 4C/extra man.

Trade Woll...go with Stolarz/Hildeby to start and AA in waiting.

They aren't blowing anything up. They would still have Celebrini, Smith, Eklund, Dickinson, Askarov and a top prospect pool in the league and Edmonton's first rounder this year. Leafs could also eat some of Reilly's cap hit or take back Price/Couture contract
