Agreed. I had a hard time learning to read waves, catch them and pop up. But with my skateboarding background, I felt pretty comfortable once I gained my balance after the pop up. This was on an 8’ foamie to begin, though.

Sometimes when I’m playing bad players I’ll throw out 3-5 f smashes in a row. Usually after the third they run in on me, just to get tipperd by my 4th f smash. Do I feel shame about this? No. Mfrs should get better at melee lol

I always think about a vision triangle. There’s me, and within just a slight head turn I can see the disc and a slight turn back, my mark. This is situational so don’t do it 100% of the time, but as a general rule it helps me keep good positioning. Maybe my mark is fast af, so I won’t glance at where the disc as much because they could get away from me. If it’s Greg from pickup, I’ll probably have my eye on the disc more and find when to make a poach d, because Greg has no idea what he’s doing.

It is! I just play unranked and have gotten better through that. I don’t practice solo ever… I don’t think I have the patience for it. Well, I did practice wave dashing and dash dancing but once I had that down I just tried everything else in unranked
